If the Cowboys drafted Myles Jack, do you think they would ever put him in with the offense?

When's the last time the NFL had a linebacker get offensive snaps?

Good thread idea. No, I don't think they'd let him run, but it would be fun to see.

He plays two positions that incur a lot of big-time injuries. Jack would be integral to our offense so quickly, we'd want to keep him as healthy as possible, especially given that we can get a guy to take the RB snaps in the 3rd round.

We don't talk all that much about adding Jack to the roster, but it'd be like having another Sean Lee out there. He's be an impact player immediately, and we'd be finding ways to get him on the field the same way we did with Byron Jones last year. He'd be a good pick for us if the QB isn't there.

Has there even been any reported interest in Jack? Because I haven't heard of any from the team. They've been linked to every other top prospect projected around the top 5, except for Jack. Maybe his name just isn't reported yet I suppose.

Think about all the snaps that he would force Wilcox off the field for...

He's being scouted at LB for obvious reason's, but at 245 lbs this guy takes off on defenders with the ball and his vision is undeniable.

The interesting thing is amongst being 1 of the better LB's in the nation he was actually 1 of the better RB's in the Pac 12 the last 2 seasons. He averaged 7.0 yards a carry and scored 7 TD's starting at the position in 5 games. He eludes and breaks tackles snap to snap.

I'd give him 3-5 carries if it didn't stunt the momentum of the running game and put him at overboard risk to injury.

That's having 4 different types of RB's at our disposal and only needing to carry 3. He probably would be the most talented overall of the bunch. Just he's so good at LB and you don't want to wear him out or get him injured.

He would be a great addition if he's healthy and if we have a DC who knows how to maximize his potential.

He'll probably be our designated goal line RB. Unbelievable nose for the end zone. I've never seen him stopped short when given multiple opportunities.

You can't be one of the better RBs when you get 68 total carried in your college career.

He had a handful of good games in 2013. That's it

Wow. So Jack can play any LB position, can also play safety in the NFL and probably TB?

Shoot, why not try him at WR too?

11 rushing TD's in those 68 carries. 26 game span and in 2013 he averaged 7.0 yards a carry and 5.7 yards throughout. 2-3 carries a game to be exact over his college career.

Was the Pac-12 freshmen of the year on offense in 2013 as well defense.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myles_Jack

When he got his touches he was very good. He's an elite LB and a good RB. So he plays more snaps at LB and rightfully so as stated in my posts throughout this thread.

I also said if it didn't hurt the momentum of our running game to give him 3-5 carries I would not be adverse to doing so, especially around the goal line as he is 245 lbs and growing. Books it to with the ball.

Below is some of his work on both sides of the ball. Watch on some runs how he has great vision and runs by defenders at his size. Gets the yards after first contact too and has a nose for the end zone.

I'll get him 2-3 carries a game like that if it doesn't put him in the trainers room. 1st and foremost he's a LB, period........

If they do in fact draft this kid, they need to keep him focused on the defensive side imo. Too much playbook for a first year player to get comfortable with.

LOL if Myles Jack won offensive frosh of the year for running for 230 yards the whole season then that says a ton more about the dearth of offensive talent in the frosh class that year than how awesome Jack is:

If Jack only played rb, then his stats would have been greater.

He can play RB at a high level. He can play LB at an elite level.

So guess where he's going to play the majority of his snaps? LB.

Every 6 carries the kid scored a TD and over the course of those carries avg 5.7 yards.

Nobody here is saying he should be drafted as a RB as he's clearly best utilized as a LB.

But just cause he only ran 68 times does not mean we should discount his abilities at RB.

The fact is he was the offensive and defensive freshmen of the year in 2013. He also returned kicks at times through his career also.

He's 20 right now and looks like a man amongst boys on both sides of the ball. It is what it is.

Doesn't change the fact that a guy with 230 yards won offensive frosh of the year. That tells you more about how weak the offensive frosh class that year.

Sorry if that offends your Jack sensibilities.

Lol! I'll take Goff with the 4th pick if he is there instead.

Watch the footage, the guy ran like a man amongst boys when he carried the ball. He's running by guys after breaking 2-3 tackles on most of the plays. He got that selection because his talent is evident even above players that got to run the ball full time.

If you like, turn down the music and start the video at 3.55. Ridiculous runs. Fournette is half a year older than Jack and 15 lbs lighter. To me that's the best RB but watch Jacks runs. He's a good RB.

Deny it all you want. Pac-12 talent stinking that Frosh year or not. Even when he's on defense and he creates a turnover he instantly becomes offense because he is a RB when carrying the ball. A player like this can change the whole complexity of a game.

This is the time when people overrate players leading up to the draft. Jack is a very, very good LB prospect but he's not a legit TB prospect in the NFL.

People really need to dial back the love for players in these drafts. Like how someone opined Elliott would consistently run for 2000 yards a season in Dallas ignoring the fact that 2000 rushing seasons are rare.
