See Jack run?

Doesn't change the fact that a guy with 230 yards won offensive frosh of the year. That tells you more about how weak the offensive frosh class that year.

Sorry if that offends your Jack sensibilities.

If you WATCH him play RB with that limited carried you would be impressed as well. Sometimes numbers don't do justice to his impact as RB. Film doesn't lie.

The runner-up was some guy named Jared Goff.

He ran for 270 yards and 6 TDs in 3 GAMES. This was also late in the season when UCLA was making a conference title push.

Context matters

Guy cant even run a 40 over 6 months post surgery for a meniscus and we have numbnuts asking about him playing RB if drafted. Only Dallas.

I did find out why his recovery is taking so long.

http://www.insidesocal.com/ucla/201...s-recovery-timetable-after-his-meniscus-tear/

They stitched the meniscus tear up rather than just trimming it off.

The bottom line on Jack will be determined next week at medical rechecks. If everything is progressing normally he's a top 6 lock and will be in play for Dallas.

LOL at thinking this is a better explanation for the award.

They gave an award to a kid who played 3 games out of 12. Think about how silly that sounds.

To the greater point, the kid is a LB and probably a WILL LB, potentially an elite WILL LB. All this talk of him playing SS and TB in the NFL is ridiculous.

11 rushing TD's in those 68 carries. 26 game span and in 2013 he averaged 7.0 yards a carry and 5.7 yards throughout. 2-3 carries a game to be exact over his college career.

Was the Pac-12 freshmen of the year on offense in 2013 as well defense.

When he got his touches he was very good. He's an elite LB and a good RB. So he plays more snaps at LB and rightfully so as stated in my posts throughout this thread.

I also said if it didn't hurt the momentum of our running game to give him 3-5 carries I would not be adverse to doing so, especially around the goal line as he is 245 lbs and growing. Books it to with the ball.

Below is some of his work on both sides of the ball. Watch on some runs how he has great vision and runs by defenders at his size. Gets the yards after first contact too and has a nose for the end zone.

I'll get him 2-3 carries a game like that if it doesn't put him in the trainers room. 1st and foremost he's a LB, period........

Another highlight video with terrible music. The guys that put these videos together have poor taste in music and lyrics. It ruins the video if you don't press the mute button.

I try to warn. Sometimes the tunes are actually alright but otherwise not. Jack can run with that ball can't he?

I am usually against linebackers in a 4-3 being picked at an elite pick due to position and due to these guys getting injured because of where they play. I am even more against taking a top 10 pick on a corner back. You tend to not get your bang for your buck when you take a CB high.

Looking at the history of Marinelli's defenses (and similar defenses) you see a few common things. One is he likes to get pressure with his front four. This is key. Without that pressure up front, the defense does not look good. Second, Tampa with Derrick Brooks and Chicago with Urlacher had linebackers who controlled the middle of the field and go do most things really well. Could Jack be that player? If so, he would have to be a strong consideration for me if I didn't think either QB was a future franchise guy.

I think Jack is pretty much out of the picture.
