Jerry Jones:

A players owner. Supporter of minorities. Grew the league (to include recent moves of STL to LA with full ownership backing). A, at one point, full supporter of Goodell and part of the inner-circle of owners. THE inner circle of owners (and he may still be, for all we know).

A jet-setter, three time winner (2 decades ago, not withstanding). Never a boon for the league until very recently. A man who brokered billions fist over fist for the league, not Tagliabue or Goodell, but Jerry. A showman, sure, a damned good one. A horrid GM, sure, but when it comes to the league and it's ownership, they could give two direwolf poops.

An ultimate owner who owns the most lucrative AND largest net worth franchise in the world. THE WORLD.

I am not a fan of Jerry the GM, I have been incredibly outspoken about it in my short time here. But he is a fantastic owner for the league.

Donald Sterling
:

Owner recorded saying the "N" word multiple times, critiquing his GF for inviting Magic Johnson to games (calling him a "N" repeatedly), and using the "N" in reference to fans. Senile, hated by the league for 3 decades, and considered a pariah for not putting any money into his team, only to cash out. But most of all, known league-wide as a racist.

Once the tape leaked between his GF and him (illegally recorded, but released nonetheless after GF sold it to TMZ once she didn't get her demands), his players were taking off their jerseys before games and threatened to not play. And this is when the Clippers were good, in liberal LA.

Nothing like the Jerry vs. Goodell dealio. Any comparison is nonsense. Lazy.

His wife forced the sale, not the NBA, and he got a record $3 Billion, which resulted in him dropping his lawsuit against the NBA.

His shadiness goes back to years and years of owning shab apartments and the "look" of taking advantage of minorities (how he acquired his initial wealth to buy the Clippers).

This is nothing like the JJ situation. Nothing. Sterling did **** all for the NBA other than cause fissures and squeeze all he could from it.

Jerry Jones and the Jones ownership is going nowhere, and it's absurd to think these two share any similarities. Go ahead and point and laugh when these two are brought up in the same sentence by posters on this board.

This thread was made to squash the comparisons of these two polar opposite owners, and all the comparisons I've seen recently. Truly pathetic slap-assing going around when these two are brought up. They couldn't be further entities from one another.

It is so lazy. Some reporter says "the league is going to take the team from Jerry" and now we have some puppies pooping nonsense about Jerry and Sterling. Yip it!

These two are polar opposites. Don't be lazy.

Your forgetting something. Jerry owns Papa Johns pizza franchises so he had to call Papa John up personally and get him to blame protest for ratings declines. Everyone knows papa john needs to come out with a stuffed crust pizza. Who doesn’t like a stuffed crust...or maybe a little garlic seasoned crust. Something.

Get em out!!!

A member of Mr. Sterling's harem violated a rule most recently attributed to a Mr. Hefner but likely dating back to Sargon the 15/16.

A member of said Harem will not cavort with viriles in the Sovereign's palace.

Another sad reminder of how standards have fallen in the present age.

There's nothing there, Shorty. Just billions for the league.

There''s certainly nothing there a la Sterling.

Jerry ain't no low level owner like Stirling was. I think what we're seeing is both side with "shots across the bow" warning shots to each other. I think Both sides will back off. Zeke, Pappa Johns, etc. they're seeing who is on which side.

I really doubt either sides want a war. There's too much money to lose.

Dude I cannot see anyone wrestling away the richest franchise away from it's owner because he spoke his mind.

#1 Cowboys
#2 Yankees

The next three are soccer clubs, then the Patriots. Goodell needs to be scared, not Jerry.

To those of you who are scratching your heads, trying to find the impetus of this thread (other than what the OP Title states, as it's incredlibly clear -- let me pat my back) :

Donald Sterling is perceived as an owner who lost his franchise due to his league (the NBA) taking it from him. While that didn't happen, as in the OP I explain his wife sold the franchise, posters here are drawing comparisons in a May-Day sort of way. Equating Sterling's loss of the Clippers to a potential loss of Jones' Cowboys.

Sheesh.

Absolutely, brother. We're stuck with the Jones' family, thick and thin. Aint no one taking this team from this family.

I have heard more Al Davis comparisons that anyone else, which there are some similarities,
I know Jerry looked up to Al when he first came into the League as a mentor, or at least that is what I have read.
