4. I thought UConn safety Obi Melifonwu was outstanding on Wednesday. At 6-foot-4, 219 pounds, the way he was running around out on the field caught my eye. I've heard he's going to test off the charts at the NFL Scouting Combine. -- Daniel Jeremiah

Uh oh
His tape is as underwhelming as Byrons college tape.

One of my favorite safeties in this years draft. I don't think he kills it at the combine so i hope he can be had on day 3. He would bring that toughness and fearlessness to our secondary that is needed. I remember last year when Wilcox had that huge hit on Beckham Jr. and it got the entire defense fired up. We need more of that. Shook Beckham Jr. for the rest of the game too. kept his head on a swivel looking for Wilcox lol.

Why do I think he won't make it to our 3rd pick?

I have the same feelings. seems like the kind of player that u would think goes later cause he will run a little slower then most the other safeties but goes earlier because hes a football player 1st athlete 2nd. Not an athlete trying to play football. Its the same thing with Cooper Kupp. I have to even call myself out on him. some on here ( including myself) didn't want anything to do with him at first because he won't run 4.3 or low 4.40. Then you watch tape and see a football player who can take advantage of and embarrass players who are much better athletes.

I think he'll run at best a 4.6, and again, that's at best. He looks a little stiff to me as well regarding change of direction. I think he'll be a 5th-6th rounder

If that's the case we probably won't touch him. Sparq score fail. At safety, that's crucial.

Keanu Neal went 17th overall this last draft after he ran a 4.62 40. Kam Chancellor is regarded as one of the best SS in the game and he ran a 4.69 40.

We'd have to check the other drills as well when the time comes. I like him as a player, just not in round 3.

true. i still have a feeling he wont make it out of day 2. NFL draft scout has him running a high 4.5 40 btw.

I want him on day 3. We was just saying we have a feeling someone takes him day 2. Not every lives and dies by Sparq like we do. Patriots go out and get football players not athletes trying to earn a big check. seems to work. their in the superbowl once again.

A few guys are a given to succeed in Mobile. Oj Howard and Forrest Lamp types are first round material.

Others I am glad to see showing up that I am high on:

Tanzel Smart-seems almost destined to be a Cowboy. Quick, aggressive, undersized interior lineman with a great motor.

Taywan Taylor-I think this guy has some Emanuel Sanders in him. He will be a player who sees the field a lot in the NFL.

Montravius Adams-Looks like he is going to rise as the draft gets closer. Right now I would consider him a third rounder with a chance to move into the second. Personally I prefer him over Smart just because I think the Cowboys need more size in the middle..

Daeshon Hall-If the Cowboys fail to land an edge rusher in the first, this guy might be an ideal candidate on day 2.

Cameron Sutton-Love this kid. I wouldn't hate it in the second round at all.

Disappointing

Jordan Willis-I don't think practice is where this guy will shine, he is known for being relentless and a hard worker. However, I was hoping for a little more positive news on him.

Ryan Switzer-Sounds like he is struggling a bit. Not sure if he is another player who might do better in the game.

Rising

Evan Engram-I didn't like his size for the TE position and wasn't sure he could carry more weight, but looks like he has put on some lbs and it hasn't effected him in the least. Destined for the second round.

Guess my post about Jordan Willis "possibly" being an answer at RDE is getting a not-so-good answer right now...........unless he just plays lights out in the game.

The more I watch, the more I believe there is no way that Alabama tight end O.J. Howard gets to the Cowboys at No. 28. His ability to get down the field in routes is comparable to Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen up in Carolina, and that makes him a difficult guy to defend. Watching him play live in these practices just confirms his ability

This will make some people around here happy.
I've been saying for at least three years, Howard has been underutilized in Alabama's scheme.

I think good chance one of these guys could be a Cowboy. Unfortunately I dont think it is Adams because of the money they already have invested in the 1 tech and not sure he fits Marinelli's mold. I see a disruptor and pocket pusher ala Kawan Short who is a FA by the way. Agree with your take on Engram. Think he helps the passing game, not sure about rushing.

Cam Sutton seems like a Dallas kind of CB. Does everything except make plays on the ball.

I liked him as well. Betting you'll see him show up in the game. However I have him as a third rounder now.
