No. Watkins is a fine special teams player and a perfectly adequate backup safety. A starter, he ain't.

Watkins looked bad as a rook a couple of times and people never forget.

He even looked decent replacing Roy Willi last year until he got hurt, but people remember negative ish more.

Is anyone here really defending Hamlin as an adequate starter?

Am I missing something? Did Hamlin have a bad game? Gerald is a bonafide baller but I thought Hamlin played well today. And yes, I'll defend Hamlin over our alternatives.

Agreed, he got a bad rap for that Philly game but he really hasn't been all that terrible when he has started in spot duty imo.

Ken Hamlin is paid like he's a difference maker and he basically doesn't show up.

Since signing a contract extension, Hamlin has 1 interception and 0 passes defensed in 22 games.

He had 5 picks and 15 passes defensed in '07 when looking for a big contract.

Hamlin is lucky we don't have any alternatives at present.

He will not return next season, IMO.
