Sensabaugh wants long term deal

I think you have to evaluate Sensabaugh and what he brings to the table vs. whoever you have on your roster or whoever you may target in the draft. You have to compare each individuals skillset and you also have to consider payroll limitations. If Sensabaugh grades out slightly higher than M. Hamlin but costs twice as much you should go with the younger player.

Craig

I think you need to evaluate several posters brains that come on here and spout over 1 play during the whole season that put the Vikings up 7-0.. He already came out and took blame for it.. this group of db's need to stay together, the 1 exception is "Ken Hamlin" would be nice to see him gone. Gerald Sensabaugh helped this secondary big time and allowed zero big plays during this whole year and that is hard to do as a team and still the TD he allowed he was all over their best receiver just wasn't aware of where the football was. Come on! you overreacting negative nancy's, Sensabaugh has to be resigned if you guys want to have this team keep making strides.. Only going to be 27 headed into next year, not like he is up there. Some of you are just out of your mind

sensabaugh shouldn't have been covering rice on that play.i blame that touchdown on terrance newman.newman released him on that play and didn't even try to knock him off the route.i know this hasn't got anything to do with sensabaugh wanting a long term contract but i've been wanting to point that out to someone and i finally got my chance.lol.:D
True about Newman. Sensabaugh did have over the over-the-top responsibilty and covered well on the play except for the minor extremely fundamental detail of not looking for the ball.:D That one was so weird to watch and it was pretty masterful by both Favre and Rice. A classic case of players making plays--and nothing to do with scheme on that one. That was the case for defense much of the day. I think they were prepared, but were in too many wholes and finally started to break later in the game.

sign him to a fair deal, he played very well for most of the season, and basically with 1 hand for part of it. yes he messed up yesterday, but I still think newman blew it as well which led to the confusion on the play.

if you want to complain about safety play, let's talk about Hamlin who's been MIA for the better part of the season (when not hurt) and who has the big contract.

Exactly. I'm normally very forgiving when players mess up, but that crap was inexcusable. He was in position to not only defend, but even to make an interception. He did not look back. He did not attempt to break up the pass. He did not attempt to tackle. He didn't even ATTEMPT any of the above. Inexcusable.

When I saw the replay, it looked like he realized the ball was caught, but did nothing. It was very strange.

Other than that, he had a solid year, but he has a whole lot of nerve talking contract at a time like this.

lol he has a family and needs to take cares of that as well, give me a break.. His mind should be focused on getting a new contract and this is where he wants to be so you get asked the question, he is gonna tell you.. It's not like him and his agent pleaded for a new deal during the season.. You are crazy!! He already talked about that play and said he messed up that he never saw the ball and didn't even realize that he scored.

Watch who you call crazy!! Sensabaugh messed up on the play just 24 hours ago. I admitted that he had a solid season other than that play. What more do you want? It's just too early for him to go on about a contract extension. You give me a break.

yeah and guess what??? not even 24 hours ago he is no longer under contract to play another game for the Cowboys sir! So that is where his mind should be at like I said.

I don't think there's any chance at all that he'll be available.

Here's a question that probably has an obvious answer but whatever.

If playoff teams would be restricted from signing a player until they lost a FA, what would prevent a player from refusing to sign with a non-playoff team and wait for the playoff team of their choice to have a spot open up?

Also, can teams negotiate while they wait for their spots to open up?

It's funny.

Basically Gerald is out of a job as of now unless we or someone else sign him.

If it were anyone of us here, we'll be looking for a job and some security for our family. But since he's a Cowboy, he should play for peanuts and only think of the STAR. :laugh2:

i don't think sensabaugh messed up as much as the coverage did. he was tight on rice.

Besides that ******** play yesterday, he's been solid for us all season.

I'd give him 3 years, 12 million.

If he doesn't like that, pray for Earl Thomas in the draft.

I'd jump on that as well.

I'm guessing he wants more years, and more money though.

He was in position to make a play, but didn't even try. It's his job to know where the ball is. He messed up. I forgive him, but it is what it is.

He tried very hard to defend the receiver by himself when he should have had help. He did a great job of putting himself in that receiver's back pocket.

Only a perfect throw and a great catch beat him on that play.

I can't fault the guy to much on that play. Sure he coulda shoulda woulda had an int but 99 times out of a hundred that pass is not completed.

Improved safety play is no small reason why the defense improved as much as it did this season.

Dallas's secondary as a whole has been a power house, and Sensabaugh has played pretty damn well IMO. For some reason, some no body gets on here and starts poisoning the masses, all of a sudden, people think the guy sucks cause a couple of fools said so.

Do us all a favor and watch the games. Very few deep balls on us this year, he's the reason for that. Plus running stride for stride with a Receiver yesterday, that's awsome IMO, he just needed to make a play.

You are totally barking down the wrong tree if you want to dump on the defenders, I'd suggest going to the offensive side of the ball.
