Serena Williams is pathetic

I just can't take a threat that serious in a moment of heat like that. In sports people mouth off, but few ever even attempt to follow through. From what I heard on ESPN I did not hear a threat.

The women claimed, if what was reported is true, that Williams said that she would kill her. Now, of course, that's probably not what would happen but, I don't think you just let that pass either.

As I said earlier, if their is no truth to the threats, then I think it should just stop here.

I don't know if overblown is the right word. She deserved the point penalty. She deserved the $10K fine. I think seeking a suspension or any larger fine would be way too much for the situation. Her tirade was bad, but not that bad.

Yeah, I think she deserved the point penalty and the fine, so I don't think it's overblown. Nothing else has been done to her yet. Sure, she'll catch more boos, but that's minor. Serena and Venus are already persona non grata at Indian Wells from their actions there.

The tirade is the worst I've seen IMO. Players have talked disrespectfully to linespeople and chair umps before, but I've never heard someone threaten one of them. It was an embarrassment IMO.

Tennis is, sort of like golf, a gentleman's game. I can understand getting aggravated in the moment and making a comment, but a threat? Is that necessary?

I think equally as bad is the way she's approached it after the fact. The half ***** apology, and then coming out with a second apology. I don't think she's sorry.

She didn't say she was going to stuff the ball down her throat. She said she should stuff the ball down her throat. Slightly different.

I agree that because it is tennis it changes how this whole thing is perceived.
