Would you trade Marion Barber for a 1st round pick? i know it may be hard because of his contract..but would you do it, if it meant getting a 1st, and in position to get a big time player in the draft?

i love barber, and idk if i would want to give him up, a friend of mine brought it up to me today...that we should

then again would a team give up a first for him?

How high of a 1st rd pick are we talking? Top 20? Top 10?

at least top 15

I love Barber but that would be very tempting and chances are I would end up doing it. I will say I would be less inclined if that pick was coming from a division rival

My question exactly. Barber is a fantastic player, but I think we overpaid a bit for him. Besides, we have two other very good young RBs. Barber for a first round pick? If it was a top 10? Probably. Top 20? Maybe, probably not. Outside of the Top 20? No way.

Tell me a team that would give us a 1st? Tennessee didn't want to cough up the 2nd for him to extend a RFA offer last year and apparently they had a great deal of interest for him.

So, who is going to give us a first let alone a top 15 pick. Not saying Barber is or isn't worth it, just dying to know where this interest and pick would come from?

Maybe we should look at it from the other side, would you give up a top #1 pick to get Barber? I honestly do not think anyone would give us a top 15 1st rd pick for Barber.

What, coming out of this years draft, would compensate the loss of one of the best things going for Dallas right now?

For a #1 pick between 10 and 15, yes. For a top 5? No. I don't want to pay huge dollars for a possible bust.

Personally, I don't think anyone would trade a #1 pick for a running back that requires a two back system.

I think Barber more than proved he can't handle the load by himself. He was fumbling left and right and would become ineffective during the game. He is a late game smasher and goalline power runner.

I have to agree and only because we have Felix and Choice who I believe both are capable of starting in this league. Not knocking Marion Barber here AT ALL, but I believe MBIII is the most expendable of the three. Like I said though, I really like MBIII. I just think Felix and choice bring more to the table.

In this craptastic draft? Unlikely. I'd have to know who we're getting in return.

I would honestly say that yes based on talent I would probably do it. I'm not sure its a great move, but I think that you could likely move from Barber/Felix to Felix/Choice and not lose that much. Plus then you can go shopping in the later rounds for a RB and possibly come up with another good player. We seem to have a knack for that of late.

So if they said we have a trade with Dallas and SF and with the 10th pick Dallas selects (wait, wait) Michael Crabtree from Texas Tech... in return Barber will go to SF. Would you celebrate or boo? :laugh1:

I was wondering myself who in the Top 10 is so spectacular that it would be worth a shot. Barber's heart alone is 2nd to none...

HELL NO

1. Salary cap hit on Barber is 10 mil I believe.
2. We need to sign Ware
3. Would couldn't afford the new contract of the top 15 draft pick with items 1 and 2.
4. You have to have 3 competent RB's in this league.
