Sounds like you're a bit too sensitive about these arguments. Maybe you shouldn't engage in them if they sound condescending to you.

With all due respect, this makes no sense. I can imagine that Elliott can fly, what does that have to do with practically being better than Emmitt?
And who is waiting for Elliott to flame out? I'm just saying he isn't better than Emmitt is right now. I hope Elliott IS better than Emmitt because we'd be winning more Super Bowls. I really have no idea what you're talking about or how you're interpreting my comments. Seriously.
don't worry about me little tyke, I'm fine.....just move along

I love how these comments about Emmitt are always made...the fact his there were several other back who ran behind that line during Emmitt's prime: Lassick, Sherman Williams, Lincoln Coleman, Curvin Richards...the fact is not one of them looked even remotely close to his effectiveness...sure, Emmitt benefitted from that line AND that line benefitted a great deal from Emmitt. There's a synergy there that can't be ignored. ridiculous.

Barry in the hole 1 on 1 in crunch time not so much

Or getting his tailed pulled in goal line situations. Or leading the league in negative yards, all time. Or coming up small in the post season, year after year. Or quitting on his team and walking away from game.

Barry is all about the flash, Emmitt was cold hard cash. Can't take flash to the bank.

I think it has more to do with these jack-sses finding a way to disrespect other Cowboys. Half of these jerks on TV and radio singing the praises of Dak are just doing it so they can diss Romo. Same goes here for Joyner dissing Emmitt.
This plus only losers talk in "ifs".

Zeke is special. Very special. We'll see just how special in the years to come. I'll enjoy the ride.

He not even completely comfortable or fully matured yet. He could go down as one of the greats.

Would be hard to find a more moronic comparison. Surprised Joyner can be so ignorant but then again, he's an eagle. Zeke is doing well. Dallas is doing well. I hope it continues but there's lots to clean up. The team and player is still a work in progress while Emmitt"s accomplishments and career are perfect finished product.
The defensive lines he faced just within the division alone blow the doors off today's crap.

Go back and watch early Emmitt then get back to us. Now EE has one thing ES never had otherwise.....

ES did well because of the great OL narrative is a myth. ES made that line look better than it was. None of his backups ran as well behind the same OL. None of the OLinemen made the probowl until ES showed up.

I tend to think our current line is better due tot the fact multiple RBs have ran well behind it.

ES almost ran for 1000 yards in his 12th and 14th year playing on a bad teams.

Seth Joyner sounds like the high school kid who dated the hottest girl, then she dumped him, then he goes around telling everyone how she’s not that pretty. Sorry Seth, but 22 ruined your chances at a championship. Deal with it.

Elliott will never turn into Trent Richardson.
Barring injury Zeke will be an elite RB for years to come.

Emmitt had huge heart when it came to balling and grinding too. Not taking anything away from Zeke but he has not shown nor had the opportunity to do so to prove he is on the same level.

Remember Emmitt carrying the team with one shoulder against the Giants in NY to lock up home field!? Emmitt was the man.

Warrior game. He played with one arm in essence, and hung in there until Eddie Murray could kick the game winning FG

Emmitt made the O-Line better than it was. And the O-Line was a better pass pro unit than run block unit. For instance, the team won without Troy . They won with Steve Beuerlein, an aging Bernie Kosar and even Jason Garrett. They NEVER won without Emmitt in those prime years.

Barry Sanders is the most overrated player I have ever seen and will likely ever see in my time watching football. He had 2 perennial Pro Bowlers on his O-Line and had Herman Moore who was a Pro Bowl WR threat. He lost yards because he didn't follow the design of the play as in Sanders' own words...he didn't like getting hit. Putting Sanders behind the Dallas O-Line would have led to years of heartache and not being able to get it done in the postseason.

As far as Elliott goes, I think he's better than Emmitt at the same stage. He had Emmitt's vision, patiences, low CoG, explosion and cutting ability. He's noticeably faster and a bigger threat in the passing game.

But, that's all he is at this point.

Nobody loves them some Zeke more than I do, but to put him up there this early is just foolish. Emmitt broke all kinds of Florida records in HS, then did the same thing with the Gators. Spare me that Barry Sanders crap, too. He was a quitter, plain & simple. Emmitt had the will, the vision, quickness, & determination to break the NFL all-time rushing record. No one gives him credit for how he set up his blockers like few have done. He made that line just that much better. As soon as Zeke gets three rings & rushes for 19,000 yards, then we'll talk.

He's just a rookie.

It's one thing to do it for a year and another to do it as long as Emmitt did. Michael Clayton looked better as a rookie than Jerry Rice did when he was a rookie. In the end it was Rice's continued longevity and natural progression that made him Jerry Rice. Most people think of George Clooney when they think of Michael Clayton.

I agree. You can't just casually go making all time great comparisons off a small sample size. I just thought it was funny that you listed some extremely valuable skill sets that zeke trumps him in dismissively.

+1for the Clayton /Clooney nod

I can actually see and appreciate his point. As a staunch "let's wait and see" kinda guy that's usually late to the party due to reserving judgement, it's really not hard to see that zeke is a special talent. At some point pedigree and and situation come into play and allow a little more latitude in projection. Sometimes fringe players explode on the scene and it's safe to be skeptical. Sometimes highly touted players start slow and it's safe to exercise patience. And sometimes hype and reality intersect and what you see is what you get. Zeke has been the real deal before, is the real deal now, has the cast in place to continue, and won't be a surprise at all if he does. Very early for career comparisons, but very easy to get excited.

Love this big headed beast
