Did we ever hear exactly what happened?
Not with this current staff, lol. He could have had his leg amputated and we wouldn't know.

At least they can choose anybody on IR now instead of having to designate in advance. They only get one IR return guy and they need to save that for Romo
Jenkins isn't the guy to waste it on imoAt least they can choose anybody on IR now instead of having to designate in advance.
Probably not, but you never know what will happen which is what makes the new rule so much better. He did generate some pass rush which, before the Romo injury, was the #1 biggest issue on the team.Jenkins isn't the guy to waste it on imo
Speaking of injuries, any updates on Tapper, Nzeocha, T Crawford, Scandrick, or J smith? I know scan has a groin injury, hope it doesn't keep him out of the season opener.
FRISCO -- Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee was working on the side on resistance cords Sunday during the portion open to the local media. Lee did have his helmet on, however, a sign that he will be able to at least participate in practice at some level.
Some good news: Receiver Dez Bryant (concussion) and defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford (concussion) were back working in individual drills. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett indicated that neither player has been fully cleared yet from their concussion protocol but they are far enough along to do some individual work.
Also working on the side Sunday at The Star: safety J.J. Wilcox, linebacker James Morris and offensive guard Ron Leary. All three didn't have their helmets as the team stretched. Wilcox was injured in Thursday's preseason loss at Seattle. He was evaluated for a concussion/stinger on the sideline. Leary has been battling a sore groin.
Not spotted at practice: DE Charles Tapper (back), DE Shaneil Jenkins (hamstring), LB Mark Nzeocha (Achilles), CB Arjen Colquhoun and CB Jeremiah McKinnon.
Running back Darren McFadden also still isn't participating in practice while recovering from a fractured elbow.

Wilcox injury probably makes the team better...
they need to cut him before they have to IR him and pay him the 1.8mWilcox injury probably makes the team better...

It is unfortunate. I think he has the physical ability to be a good player, but he has regressed since 2014. He seems to have mentally checked out.J.J. Wilcox ($1.661M) is scheduled to make too much money to be a special teams player and reserve safety you don't want to see on the field.
We already have one of those named Jeff Heath who is better on special teams.
Wilcox is on the final year of his rookie contract and has no future with the Dallas Cowboys, so there's no reason to put him on IR with a minor injury.
The team will use an injury release and wipe their hands of another disappointing small school draft selection.

If you watch him in training camp, he is actually good in one-on-eon coverage drills. He is obviously not a Byron Jones type, but he has the physical ability to cover in a way that Church never had, but Wilcox has just checked out mentally. I don't see him doing well at SS or anywhere with his current mental approach. He was good enough back in 2014, but his mental issues are almost as weird as when Roy Oklahoma Williams mentally checked out.J.J. Wilcox is better suited for SS than FS, but he lacks confidence in the passing game and will be a liability when asked to play deep.
Prior to Byron Jones, the team has had a nasty habit of adding safeties much better suited to playing SS.
Every team does itno doubt another injury of a player that will subsequently be upgraded to something more serious by this organization...

Most available vets are not god any more. Give give the spot to some young guy that might develop or cross train somebody like Carr as the backup FS because it appears that the CBs Brown and Olatoya can play in the NFL.that's it, when a player realizes that they are just not good enough to compete at this level, than they are done. Looking for a vet safety cut win its trim time.
