Moose and Aikman really are on thin ice. What those 90's teams did really precludes them from throwing the "character flag"

It comes back at them at many levels.

I welcome the Tank as he rolls into Dallas mid season. Doesn't work out you take the keys away and send him home. He seems sincere and not a thug.

Haley was send packing out of San Fran because he threatened Steve Young and multiple asst coaches with death.

Here in Dallas he was considered completely wacky. He once put his head through the wall.

He also was the guy who stood on a teammates' hood and urinated.

Tank has been called a good locker room guy who would have gotten convicted for nothing more than resisting arrest had be been in his home state.
How much time did Haley do before we got him? Why did Chicago let Tank go if what he did was no big deal?

Back then our idiots were already ours, we didn't go out and sign someone else's. I think that's the difference. Before someone mentions Haley, I don't believe he was a convict before we got him. The funny thing is, I see no reason to have Tank, I thought we'd be fine without him.

Thats how I see it also. We had home grown idiots.;)

Listening to Mike & Mike In The Morning, they stated that Shannon Sharp called Troy and Moose hypocrites for criticizing the signing of Tank Johnson.

Sharp pointed out that they played with players of questionable character during the 90's (during the "White House" era) and they never said anything. Sharp wanted to know why they are saying anything about character issues now that Tank was signed.

My thought is...they are doing their job now by expressing their opinions as analysts . Back then they were being teammates, not rocking the boat while they were in the middle of championship seasons.

Thoughts?

I thought the same thing when I heard that Troy and Moose said it. It is hypocrtical.

I just can't get over the fact that the Shannon Sharpe's mug resembles the Denver Broncos logo almost perfectly.

Hmmmm...:laugh2:

Shannon who ? Pfffffffffffffftttttttttt !

Regardless of how you feel about Mr. Sharpe, his comments have merit.
I heard Moose's take on Tank on Sirius NFL radio and to be honest,Moose came out sounding like a whiny self righteous little b***h.
Hey Moose, you played with Michael Irvin,Eric Williams and Leon Lett.
Hey Moose,remember the "White House"?

Funny....or phony.

Haley did not do time because none of his teammates pressed charges. He was simply traded away. It doesn't mean he didn't commit crimes because he did and they are documented. But trading for Haley was smart because we got him cheap and he had talent. In the end thats what matters. Is a guy a good football value?

Tank did time... for gun ownership. Tank isn't exactly Jamal Lewis, Ray Lewis or any number of guys who committed crimes involving other people.

If we were signing a guy like Haley instead of Tank I'd be complaining. Haley was TO on steroids. He was the model for TO's team implosion tactics on how to get out of a city.

A person in Mooses or Aikmans capacity has the opportunity to meet Tank Johnson in person and judge him for themselves. im pretty sure they havent.

What some fail to realize is the difference between giving a player a second chance with a new team and giving a player multiple chances with the same team. That's why the Bengals are amusing. They have their own prison system and yet they let these players serve suspensions and come right back.

The Cowboys are taking a minimal risk by signing Tank. If he screws up? He's gone so fast you'll never know he was here.

So it IS very hyprocritcal on their part to speak up about the signing of Tank Johnson. What the Cowboys did in the 90s was try to sweep it all under the rug in the name of winning and that IS wrong. What the Cowboys are doing now is giving a guy a second chance with a new team with basically no risk. HUGE difference.

Haley wanted out of SF and that was his way of making sure. A lot of what he did in SF was calculated; you notice very little happened in Dallas.
