Shariff on 105.3 - McClay will be in the driver's seat, not Stephen, once Jerry gives up GM duties

They both could be in the driver's seat........they need each other. Stephen's strength isn't football as much as business/cap and vice versa, McClay is more football/talent evaluator. So IMO, both can be true.......
Why is this coming up now........

Don't believe it for a second, but it would be nice.
Whether fans realize it or not, this team is already geared to good imput. That drives this the franchise and not a fire 'em all and cut all non-humble heads. Football!

I think what he's saying is that he believes Will will be the GM. SJ will hold the purse strings, obviously, but McClay will make the personnel decisions...Fingers crossed!

Jerry, like me, is getting really old to be running anything. But Stephen is not that young. He will be 62 this year. No way he can handle all the hats of Owner, President and GM. But he is just vain enough he may try. But IMHO he is not very good at his job currently. Added responsibility would likely be an even more clown show.

Statement starts around 12:40

This tells you Jerry is concerned with preception and fan engagement. First he shuts his yapper at the combine and know these stories come out on whi will be in charge in the future.

All a smoke.screen folks. Jerry is counting money only.

A message of hope. A glimpse of possibly having our team run like a pro franchise. Possibly.

This is how it is now. Jerry isn’t watching film of anyone. He may break ties if scouts are deadlocked on draft picks.

Stephen has no strengths, and the cap certainly is NOT one of them.
I disagree - they have always been very good at managing the cap - the problem is they are very bad at contracts which means they have to get super creative moving money around.

Just look at daks stupid contract and the 90mm number that's coming up...contract is horrendous but they will get creative and move the money around.

If Stephen is still in control of the money, results will only be slightly better.

Stephen does not have a “strength” and McClay is way overrated by CZ fans
