Shariff on 105.3 - McClay will be in the driver's seat, not Stephen, once Jerry gives up GM duties

Everything depends on the siblings lifestyle...

And...

How big of a drop in profits is really at stake if they ran the club like a football focused team trying to attain trophies?

My opinion on this, real or fake article:

1) after 35 years of interning, and even though Jerry might have let him take some serious control over the past few years, Stephen is going to want to play with his toy for a few years before Will is given major pull.

2) Jerry warped those kids brains with money. He taught them that creating drama within the Cowboys creates a cash cow at their media assets. I don't think those kids are going to stop the drama within the Cowboys, assuming there is tons of money at stake.

Everything this board complains about with the jones's fuels their media assets...dragged out contracts to the last minute, under cutting coaches in radio interviews, NDA's that allow Jerry to sabotage playoff games so it enrage the fans...

There is too much money at stake to kill the drama. It's sad for fans.

If I don't have to hear another interview with Stephen Jones about the cap and how other teams are making it happen, I will be a happy man.
yeah this is all last year worries vaq, he can go ahead and talk all that mumbo jumbo we know what we can do and how we can make it work, if he wants to play dumb then let him, the jokes only on him!!

Whether fans realize it or not, this team is already geared to good imput. That drives this the franchise and not a fire 'em all and cut all non-humble heads. Football!
30 years says you are full of crap

I disagree - they have always been very good at managing the cap - the problem is they are very bad at contracts which means they have to get super creative moving money around.

Just look at daks stupid contract and the 90mm number that's coming up...contract is horrendous but they will get creative and move the money around.
Aren’t contracts part of managing the cap? If they are bad at then they are bad at managing the cap. Other teams seem to find ways with the cap while they use the cap excuse. They have failed to work the cap to get them over the hump.

I've always felt Steven does not have the passion, so I find this a welcome change that would be awesome
Steven would rather be cruising the Mediterranean in daddy's yacht.
Yeah I dont think Stephen has the same ego as Jerry regarding the Cowboys. He seems to be more about the money and lifestyle rather than having to be seen as the chief decision-maker and wanna-be HC.
That said, being cheap in FA and coaches salaries as well as salary cap management will still likely be an issue. But hopefully personnel decisions and the overall team culture will improve.

Its just another tool they are using to get fans enraged. Anything that gets the fan based furious with "why why why" "how could they be so..." leads to more attention to cowboys and drawing in more random, while also fueling media assets.

People complaining at work about the Cowboys could turn a non-football watcher into a Cowboy follower because they want to join the convo at work. Drama leads to media viewers, which leads to money if you own media assets.

You know this.

Laughable.

Every time they show war room video there is only one man in charge and it isn't Stephen or McClay. They all look to Jerry for the decision.
You think he’d heard of Marshawn Kneeland and is breaking down Western Michigan film prior to the day before the draft?
