I am in the market for one right now. I am going back and forth between the Panasonic Plasma 65" and the Sharp 70" LED. Both are around the same price-I am replacing a 10 year old 62" rear projection Samsung DLP. I read up on the new DLP TVs yesterday and they have come a long way since my last one I bought for $3700. The ones today are like $1500. I am tempted. Waiting for them to all go on sale befoire I make a decision but may have to wait till football season. I am hoping they go down for the Olympics.

If its between a plasma and LED get an LED!

I have a Mitsibuishi Projector I got 3 years ago. And a 120" screen. The screen is important. But I get as good a picture on that as any LED or LCD you want to name.

And it cost me with screen just over $2000.

Projectors due need a darker room. But half lit it is fine; does not need to be really dark.

But for $8000 less I think one should consider it.

Have owned both a Panasonic Plasma and a Sharp LED...

Both are outstanding, but I liked the Sharp LED better... the depth of field is amazing... everything looks shot live...

thanks for the info guys. Doing my due dilegence on this is tough-You read reviews and everybody says theirs is the bestest shinest TV-It really makes it tough on making a decision. Questions I have-Is 3D worth it? Grandson playing video games is about the only reason I am leaning that way. What is the difference in progressive and passive 3-D. What is this cross talk? Is there a big difference in 120 and 240. Is being able to have internet connection TV important? I doubt I will downloading any movies. What other purpose is there to having internet on the TV. My laptop is usually two feet away while I am wathing TV. Reviews have the Panasonic Plasma as the best flat panel on the market right now but then I read last night that the set is programmed to progressively lose their black levels after a couple of years. Does that mean in two years I will have a dull set? If that is the case why not buy a DLP and replace the bulb.

Screw it-I am bringing back my 600 lb 36 inch Sony from ten years ago. I know as soon as I buy the new one I am going to have buyers remorse that I did not wait or I paid too much, or the new technology will blow what I am lookint at away. Geesh-too much information is not helping me for sure.

The other thing about plasma vs. LED...

Plasmas are a lot heavier... consider that if you are going to hang it on a wall. Plasmas also use a LOT more electricity... especially in the size range you are looking for... almost twice as much per year...

I agree...I had and LCD in my bedroom and decided to upgrade to a Sharp 46" retractable and absolutely love it. I plan on doing the same thing with the TV mounted in my outdoor kitchen. I have it on a swivel and can see it from the pool as well...LED is the way to go.
