Yes I went old school with the brush and it is a faster shave then any other dame blade

Blades are cheap sharper and a better shave period

I have the HD and use the brush as well.

I'm not all the quick with it. I could get a faster shave with a disposable but I can't get any better. Less irritation initially and when growing back.

And you're right. You can't beat a couple bucks for a dozen blades.

Although I have been on the road lately and just scooped a proglide and it seems to be a little better than the other 4-5 blade razors I used before going with the Merkur.
