Why are we so quick to dismiss our first day picks from ever cracking the starting lineup these days?

I don't want him to start over those guys. I want him to help with depth and such. We have to replace Henry and Jones roster spots and I believe Springs is an upgrade, when he's healthy anyway, over both of them.

I guess you missed the two times lasy year where he turned around and ran away from having to make a tackle. I liked his coverage skills but he looked more adverse to contact than deion sanders ever did. That doesn't bode well for a safety!

i did not miss that.

scandrick and newman are excellent tacklers.

scandrick > jenkins at corner.

I dont think we need another corner on the decline of his career. I say draft some new blood like we did last season.

NE is a championship caliber club, so if they show him the $, it'll take more than sentimentality to get him to Dallas.
Zach Thomas chose Dallas over New England.

That was because Dallas is also a championship caliber club.

I read somewhere that Springs is suppose to come in for a visit this week.

If this is legit info, then the deal will probably get done then.

Exactly.

It's not like we're the Lions!

This is the Dallas Cowboys we're talking about. And we DO have a legit shot at the playoffs and more this season.

So he'll fly in and see his father like he did when he was playing in Washington. I honestly don't see him considering us when New England is after him. I hope I'm wrong though.

This kind of stuff is laughable

*Shrugs* I just wouldn't be surprised if, at his age, he decided to go for a team that is likely closer to a Championship run than we are. We haven't even proven we could win 1 playoff game in the last 13 years let alone go all the way.

i know i am the only one, but Scandrick is NOT the corner Jenkins is and you guys can take that to the bank. I will get flamed, but I don't care. As far as Spring yes I want him here. He can be a good mentor for Jenks and Scandrick.

I think we have a shot at signing him since his dad is in the Dallas area.

However, I think he'll sign with the Pats. He'll probably get offered a similar deal. Can play for Bill Bellicek. Contend for Super Bowls.

Springs News:

Sources: Springs To Visit Saints

Free agent cornerback Shawn Springs will visit the New Orleans Saints tomorrow, sources close to the situation have informed me.
A 12-year veteran out of Ohio State, Springs had 36 tackles and 1 interception in 2008 for the Commanders. Due to injuries however, Springs has only started 29 games over the last three seasons.
More on this story as it develops.

Wont get flamed by me, I think Jenkins starts next yr opp Newman and Scandrick continues as the nickel CB.

I think both of them are going to be good one's.

.

It was more of a preference thing. Zach was from TX and he grew up a Cowboy fan.

True.

But its probably the team with the best chance. Pitt is losing McFadden. Maybe they'd have interest?

Its kinda the same deal with Springs, his daddy was a cowboy so why wouldn't he be a cowboy fan growin up, i just think if he makes it to our interview that he would sign with us.

I guess when you factor in all the help both those teams get from the 3rd team on the field, you might be right.

Otherwise I disagree. In fact I dont think the Pats will even make the playoffs next yr.
