Some of y'all that keep weird hours like myself due to work or being born in the wrong hemisphere might have seen the Shawn T. Insanity Workout ads on late night TV. I started doing a workout routine last November and I was pretty comfortable with it. I started adding more cardio and running a few miles which I'm now up to 3.5 after a high ankle sprain and some other stuff.

So I saw this workout on some channel one night. I was considering picking up the P-90-X and doing that but I hadn't really gotten serious about it just yet. I watched the whole infomercial on the Insanity and it seemed like something I could get into. 35-50 minute high intensity workout you can do in home with no equipment. Seemed a little bit too good to be true so I did a little research, REALLY came away impressed with independent review and ordered one last week.

I got it today in the mail. First and foremost, they print out in mutliple places in the brochure, instructional manual and dietary supplement "YOU MUST CHECK WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE STARTING THIS PROGRAM." Twice more in the intro DVD the repeat the same thing both in print and Shawn says it as well, this program does NOT screw around.

I just got done with my first installment which is a series of 1 minute exercises repeated for their "fit test" so you can track your progress. Keep in mind again, 3.5 miles a day, 300-450 total crunches, upper body free weight workout as well is what I'm accustomed to.

My thoughts after JUST the test? Four words:

DOES NOT (MESS) AROUND.

I'll probably do just the test again tomorrow to get my count right since I screwed it up, but daaaaaang this thing is FOR REAL. You'll start sweating on the warm up exercises alone.

I can believe it.

P90x is pretty intense for most people, but there's always something better and badder.

I'm getting ready to go back on it...that's the only downfall...it takes up too much time for me. It works though. Well.

Funny thing....the YOGA is by far the hardest routine for me. Something I've always joked people for....and I can't hang. It's a miserable routine for me.

Yeah...my gut was hurting pretty bad the first week too.

The yoga is a totally different type of pain. It's mentally challenging.

I want to stop within the first five minutes.....the remaining 85 are pure hell.

Day 1 of the actual workouts. Unless you are in dang good shape with good conditioning, you WILL throw up. Simple as that.

I still hate the yoga --I hear upward dog and downward dog in my nightmares--If it wasn't so dang long

How much was that? You probably paid 80 bucks for some dvds of a guy jumping around, doing pushups (all different kinds), punching, kicking and sit ups...

It looks interesting. I'm starting to look at some workouts to do now that I've lost quite a bit of weight, but I'd basically be starting from not being in shape at all. This looks like something I shouldn't touch until I'm already in pretty decent cardio shape.

I'd buy a book, but it's just a bunch of words throw together all different ways, some paragraphs, rising action, maybe a problem to be solved or challenge to be overcome, a climax, denouement...

Actually I just looked it up its 120 dollars plus shipping and handeling for a video of stuff you already know how to do. I could buy plenty of books for that same price, many of which tell a different story that I have never heard.

Your analogy was awful, just awful.
