I doubt the Pats would do it anyway...they are sitting perfectly for this draft.

I think just about everyone would.

That's the great thing about the draft, there's just no telling what will happen from the mid-first round onward.

The maddest I've ever gotten watching the draft is when Dallas passed on Jason Witten in the second round in 2003 and called Al Johnson's name.

And then Witten somehow lasted until the Cowboys' third round selection.

I would've lost my house betting that could never happen!

Every team runs through hundreds of mock drafts trying to simulate every early round eventuality and even they get surprised sometimes by who's still on the board when their picks come up in the 20-40 range.

There are always some early head scratching selections and the inexplicable sliders no one expected to drop very far.

I will say, however, that the only way I see McClellan available at #45 is if the concussion history has given him enough of a medical red flag that teams aren't willing to take him with an early pick. But if that's the case, the Cowboys might not touch him at #45 either...

If that kind of thing were hanging over his head, however, I would think we would have heard about it at this point.

Those concussions are the ones we know about, he is a great player but this is a red flag on the beach. Not worth the chance with his past. Not so sure on the Irvin I just see better talent being available at this pick.

I wouldn't draft either at 45. Even without the concussions.

I'm just wondering who might be the surprise slider none of us see making it there.

I look at the list and keep saying, "nope...", "nope...", "nope..."

There are a few "yups" in there somewhere.

If we can get mcclellan at #45 then that is my perfect 2nd round pick. especially if we get decastro in the 1st. There is going to be a run on pass rushers from mid 1st round to our 2nd pick. I'm not sure who of the OLB/DE rushers will be there at 45.

i think they'll all go before #45. Im as much a decastro fan as anyone but i'm beginning to come around to the idea of if you want a pass rusher you better get him early
