Shea McClellan

Not a chance at all.

Reports now have him possibly being a top 25 pick.

Even then I cant see him getting past 2 New England picks, and the Greenbay pick.

I was afraid of that

Would not mind him at all if we were to trade down. Would trade 14 for 27 and 31 in a heartbeat.

McClellan at 27

Konz at 31

Yea that would be pretty solid...I just can't see the Pats doing that

There has to be somebody they would really really want.

Talk is they like Barron. But so does Dallas. What gives?

Personally I trade 1 starter for 2.
McClellin/Konz vs. Barron
McClellin/ Zeitler vs. Barron

I wanted to do that trade in my mock, but didn't think it could happen. Instead, I made 3 trades to get McClellin at #32.

Trade #14 for Lions #23 and #54.
Trade #23 for Bucs #36 and #68.
Trade #36 and #81 to Giants for #32 and #94.
Trade #113 for #120 and #188

32 (1-32) OLB Shea McClellin
45 (2-13) CB Josh Robinson
54 (2-22) OG Amini Silatolu
68 (3-5) OLB Bruce Irvin
94 (3-32) OC Philip Blake
120 (4-25) Brandon Hardin
135 (4-40) WR Ryan Broyles
152 (5-17) DE Akiem Hicks
186 (6-16) ILB Miles Burris
188 (6-18) TE/DE Taylor Thompson
222 (7-15) CB Coty Sensabaugh

We'd have to throw in a 4th and 5th rounder to even that out.
I doubt the Pats would do it anyway...they are sitting perfectly for this draft.

i don't feel good about him having 3 concussions already. i'd have to pass on him even at 45. i'd much rather have bruce irvin at 45

Wow.....Pretty solid to me haha

You never know, may or may not be.

He's been shooting up the mocks but maybe he could be there.

I'd run the card to podium if he were.

I think just about everyone would.

But no, I don't see it happening.

Any chance he falls to 45?

That's the great thing about the draft, there's just no telling what will happen from the mid-first round onward.

The maddest I've ever gotten watching the draft is when Dallas passed on Jason Witten in the second round in 2003 and called Al Johnson's name.

And then Witten somehow lasted until the Cowboys' third round selection.

I would've lost my house betting that could never happen!

Every team runs through hundreds of mock drafts trying to simulate every early round eventuality and even they get surprised sometimes by who's still on the board when their picks come up in the 20-40 range.

There are always some early head scratching selections and the inexplicable sliders no one expected to drop very far.

Bluefin, you're exactly correct. There's never a way to predict a draft with absolute certainty, and we've seen the unexpected happen time and time again.

I will say, however, that the only way I see McClellan available at #45 is if the concussion history has given him enough of a medical red flag that teams aren't willing to take him with an early pick. But if that's the case, the Cowboys might not touch him at #45 either...

If that kind of thing were hanging over his head, however, I would think we would have heard about it at this point.

Now that Al Davis has left us, a certain degree of the unexpected doesn't exist any more.

Those concussions are the ones we know about, he is a great player but this is a red flag on the beach. Not worth the chance with his past. Not so sure on the Irvin I just see better talent being available at this pick.

I wouldn't draft either at 45. Even without the concussions.

Yeah, I'm not expecting Shea McClellin to last until #45.

I'm just wondering who might be the surprise slider none of us see making it there.

I look at the list and keep saying, "nope...", "nope...", "nope..."

There are a few "yups" in there somewhere.

If we can get mcclellan at #45 then that is my perfect 2nd round pick. especially if we get decastro in the 1st. There is going to be a run on pass rushers from mid 1st round to our 2nd pick. I'm not sure who of the OLB/DE rushers will be there at 45.

mercilus
branch
perry
ingram
upshaw
mcclellan

i think they'll all go before #45. Im as much a decastro fan as anyone but i'm beginning to come around to the idea of if you want a pass rusher you better get him early
