Shefter says Miles, Stoops

I don't mind Stoops, but I don't really like Miles that much. He inherited a great program as LSU and has simply maintained it. Stoops took over a pitifull OU program and built it up to National Championship level. If you don't like "vanilla" schemes, you'll hate Miles. Stoops had the guts to hire Mike Leach to run his offense.

Well as an OU fan I have to ask why the hell couldnt Stoops beat Miles at OSU?

He did. I believe he beat him 53-9 one year. Stoops also took his program to a National Championship.

Did Miles really take OSU to a level above, say, Texas Tech? And he holds one of the greatest all time choke jobs in NCAA history against Texas where he looked like a deer in headlights.

I think Wade is by far the top of Jerry's list (not mine). I fear Norval and Mike Martz will get looks too. Oh, and let's add the following to my made-up rumors list: Mike Shula ... oh my god...could happen. Norm Chow?

Can you Imagin Bob Stoops trying to run Leach's offense to the NFL?

LOL........

I'll tell you what I wouldn't mind thou. I wouldn't mind seeing Stoops bring Chuck Long along as OC. That might not be bad at all.

Stoops record against OSU. For those who even give a rats butt.

1999 Win - OU 44 - OSU 7

2000 Win - OU 12 - OSU 7

2001 Loss - OU 13 - OSU 16

2002 Loss - OU 28 - OSU 38

2003 Win - OU 52 - OSU 9

2004 Win - OU 38 - OSU 35

2005 WIN - OU 42 - OSU 14

2006 WIN - OU 27 - OSU 21

Record against Les Miles OSU coach 2001-2004

Bob Stoops 2 Les Miles 2

I'm sure Wade is top of Jerry's list, but I have a nagging feeling Jerry wants exciting offense and is looking for that type of coach. Which is why I wonder about Norm Chow and Mike Martz, guys like that.

Winning 2 games vs I believe #4 and #6 teams in the country IIRC. This is FAR more impressive than Boise State ,only a 7 point underdog ,beating a not so super OU team .

Shefter is a no-talent a@$%-clown!

Les Miles would be a HUGE mistake. Les Miles = Dave Campo

But I was answering your post. Why couldn't he beat Les at OSU.

Facts say he did.

2 for Bob

2 for Les

Superior talent at OU. Many tangibles involved as to why OU lost those years? Heck I don't know them all.

Why didn't we beat the Saints?

We are by far the superior team. That should equate to the field. It didn't. Just like in those losses Bob had against OSU.

Any given Saturday? :D

We are??Ill take the Saints players on offense over ours in a heartbeat. Defense, I dont know that much about their personnell but no way are we by far the superior team.

Sign me up for some of that! Really, this team needs another direction. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but Martz could do some wild things with these wide receivers. He also has a record of getting the best out of his quarterbacks, see: Kurt Warner, Marc Bulger and even Jon Kitna this year. I'd welcome him with open arms.

I just don't get all the man-love for Wade. He is Bill Parcells without the personality and a step-down as a game day coach. I really do hope Jerry goes for offensive innovation.

Say what you will about the Saints talent compared to ours. On paper. We are the better team as far as position.

Now saying that. It is not the players fault we had such a silly scheme in place for them to be used in.

I hang that completely on the play calling and the coach who just walked out of the building.

maybe roy wouldn't "suck" anymore if we got stoops

Hahah - good one. I love RW. Yes - he is terrible in coverage. The Stoops brothers sure did know how to use him tho.

That's that last of me baggin on RW.
