You mean that season where he brought them such superior value as 1 catch for 17 yards and 0 rushes for the entire regular season? And his kickoff return took the score from 22-0 to 29-0 on the way to a 43-8 lopsided affair that was essentially decided by halftime. Perhaps you can attach the dictionary picture of Percy Harvin next to the phrase "headcase that was worth the effort." Make sure to include how they did such a masterful job turning that 1st, 3rd, and 7th round pick bounty they gave up for him into a conditional 6th less than 2 years later. The six year contract with over $25 million guaranteed was another feather in the cap. Charlie Sheen agrees with you.

It's a mindset for me. They are consistently and aggressively looking for opportunities to improve. While Seattle, New England, Green Bay, and Pittsburgh are constantly trying to get better, the Cowboys are constantly trying to be right.

Seattle overpaid for Harvin, no doubt about it. But he helped the Hawks win a ring (His pair of big runs on flysweeps early set the tone for the offense), and Seattle has gone to a Super Bowl since, and is a Super Bowl contender every year since, so the damage was minimal.

You have to also realize that Seattle drafting strengths are not in the early rounds but finding gems from the 3rd round on. Most of the Hawks 1st and 2nd rounders don't pan out as well as players taken rounds 3-7 and Undrafted FA studs. I'll admit that as a Hawks fan Missing on the 1st (when they don't trade it away) and 2nd rounders irritates me,but they make up for it in the later rounds and UDFA's.
