Ever notice the resemblance between Shockey and that hick guy in all the Dodge truck commercials? Could they be the same person?

why would you question witten's desire? just bc hes not super-demonstrative when he makes a catch? witten had his jaw broken, wired shut and never missed a game. ive also seen him bloodied in games, running over people, and has become a very good blocker. sounds like a guy with a lot of desire to me.

Its the tattoo's i'm tellin ya. same reason eveyone has so much love for Merriman. It's the tats. Give Witten a giant demonic skull tattoo on his neck and a couple of sleeves, and he'd suddenly be the best TE in football, no question.

We absolutely hated Michael Irvin for his fire, huh?

We need some fire on the team.....get the dead arse crowds at Texas Stadium going.

Witten is one of my favorite players, so this isn't an attack on him.....why some of you are making it that is beyond me.

I like a firery character that can punp up a crowd and get them involved. We don't have anyone like that, and haven't really since Irvin.

Personally, I'll take Witten, who happens to be one of the greatest guys in the NFL and works harder than 99% of NFL tight ends.

Shockey is a special player while Witten is very good and reliable. You can only have so many stars on your team; IMO it's better to have great WR's than great TE's so I'd rather have Witten and find star WR's.

I think Shockey is good but his mouth hurts him IMO. In general at probably for votes for the Pro Bowl. Witten is better than Shockey not the other way around. That's arguable and I'd think it reasonable to think the opposite though.

I agree completeley the media has made him into a superstar because one nice run in a preseason game.

He doesn't deserve superstar status, no doubt, but he is damned good. Look at the numbers - he's done a lot more to get some attention than just had a nice run.

I like his intensity but dislike his overbearing attitude. If he could tone that down a hair he would not only be outstanding, but a fan favorite.

Don't say everything on your mind, just things that need to be said. Shockey is firey and I like that. Sometimes we forget that this is a GAME, and it's okay to get wound up and animated over losses and talk smack, it's all in good fun.
NO crime here, move along.

your initial comment was about lack of desire on witten's behalf and basically i just asked why you say that. this response tells me you define desire as pumping up the crowd.

IMO youre mixing apples and oranges.

Maybe I was tying them both together.

Show your desire, it will pump your players and fans up.

I, in no way called out Witten for not having desire....people show it differently.

This is so funny to me. I look at the guy in the Dodge commercial and in the back of my mind, it always tells me he looks like somebody I know. Thank you for putting that together for me.

Yeah, he totally looks like Shockey.

I'm glad someone knows what I'm talking about.

"Is that a HEMI?"

"You're about to find out."

Didn't NY get outplayed and outcoached? Isn't the truth a defense?
