Shocking Bronco Game Stats

A couple of surprising and head-scratching numbers from the Bronco game.

In 42 of 76 plays the Broncos gained 2 yards or less. 55% of Broncos offensive plays resulted in:
  • An incompletion
  • A negative penalty
  • A sack
  • A pass or run that lost yardage or gained 0, 1 or 2 yards.
On a shocking 13 plays the Broncos were tackled for loss.

And yet...Dallas gave up +400 yards.

When your offense can't do diddley sooner or later you're going to cave......
40 min TOP for the Bronco offense and you want the defense to hold for how long now???
Someone hit up our Cap fat cats over on the offense and simply say.......thanks for nothing on this one!

If we could have kept the ball in our offense for longer, they wouldnt have scored 30 points, which in return would have meant that 24 points or something like it (had the Cowboys win with 24-21 :( ) would have been enough. Why are we still talking about this game? It was a huge turd on all sides and the stats support it. Big news. :D

Woulda shoulda coulda...

Atlanta today, everything else just fades in the rear view mirror.

By the way, when are you supposed to use this emoji? :oldcouple:

Nothing elite about this defense so far. They’ve been giving up big plays all year.
They held the Broncos thru 3 full Quarters of football to 19 points.
May I ask where our offense was??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

The Offense lost the game.

The time of possession was 41:12 vs 18:48. Can't win with the D on the field that long.

so the D was on the field too long? So wouldn’t that tell you it’s the D fault?
Good point but this offense needs to carry the defense to a degree and not have so many three and outs.

All works together. The offense is a championship caliber unit, the defense not so much.

The 2016 defense wasn't very good overall, but very much aided by our ability to play keep away.

Things snowball quickly when a bad defense is gassed all game.

This "seems" to say that if the team plays the scheme---AND TACKLES---the scheme is pretty good. But when people blow the scheme, they get gashed.

It really was a bizarre game. After halftime, I was fully expecting the Cowboys to come back and seize control. That weird blocked punt sealed the no deal though.
I, too, had some hope for awhile. As soon as we lost that blocked punt I just knew deep down it was over though.
I aint that smart & was still believing we might recover for way too long.

We left that game on a positive note. And I think that will carryover. To this week. I don’t believe in garbage time statistics.

not shocking its what we witnessed, most of the 1st/2nd downs had them stopped 3rd down they easily would pick up the first etc etc
Bi Polar lol inconsistency and comes from lack of depth, the rotations make the backups even weaken given they were 3rds elevated to 2nds etc etc larger drop offs etc

34 yards and 400 yards. And 30 points.

Last week was a full team effort meltdown.
