Shout out to bbgun for inspiring me to come up with a new bad pun for this weeks thread! You're the yin to my yang, or something like that.

There are a lot of us vindicated this week, and not all of us agree on everything. I invite all of the homers, the hopeful and the glass half full crowd to add to things they've been pointing out that came true this week. We all know the negative crowd will be here to say it was just the Bills and tell us to put away the oil so why not take our shots too?

First, the running game. Inside the 5 just run it Garrett, we now have Holland, Fiammetta and Murray. No tricks, just let Fi lead block and Murray do his thing. Many said we can't run, Garrett sees what happens in practice, etc. Well, we did it straight up like many of us screamed for and scored a TD today.

When we are dominating on both sides and have a big lead in the second half, just run Garrett. We did today and we won, Romo did not turn it over because we played smart.

Dez does not know the playbook and can only run three routes. I think I saw him do some new things today. Many of us have been saying he can but the staff is to blame. I think Dez showed us he can do more today and the coaches need to make it happen. Dez has a long way to go, he's young and has missed a lot of time. But if the coaches continue to develop and push him, he will excel.

Murray and Robinson deserve the oil, big time. They will have bad games in the future I'm sure, but they are solid players. When some of us said they have potential, this is what we were talking about. We did not guarantee it, we just saw potential based on facts.

TNew does not suck and should not be cut. On TrueBlue I argued that because he's a gym rat he can be a solid corner into his late 30's. The pass interference call was BS, he was great today and proved why he belongs here. Injuries have hurt him and caused reasonable concern on his future. But too many have tried to say he sucks and was not good even before he suffered some injuries.

Hos, this is for you brother. On a play where we made a 1st, we had been running all over them. Garrett chose to pull all the RB's and throw. It ended up a 1st to Witten and I think it was a stupid call. We should have kept a back in there and done play action, imo. See, I don't just complain about the plays that do not work, this was a really stupid move and I bet play action could have led to a bigger gain.

At a minimum, this is a great example of Garrett making it harder to execute. We had them trying to figure out how to stop the run and let them flat out play the pass only because we had an empty backfield. This is all the proof I need to feel certain Garrett is still lacking as a play caller. He was good over all, this was dumb. I'm not calling for his head, just pointing out some things he does that makes it more difficult than it needs to be.

The oline was very good today, I have not been a fan though I've said Holland and Fiammetta have made them better. Those of you who have been on their side have some evidence today, they were really good. Those of you, me included, who pointed out how good Romo could be when protected get a big win today.

Romo, oh Romo. Several of us have said his injury has been a factor. He's been healthy 2 weeks now and on fire. The TD to Robinson from the 10 is a great example of healthy Romo. The pressure came and he spun and rolled out extending what was now a busted play. Classic Romo, people scrambled around and he found the open man. He would not have been able to make that move 2-3 weeks ago and would have been sacked or thrown it away.

Great game overall. I look forward to those who will try and shoot down my points, find things to complain about or tell us how Romo still sucks.

By the way, as I type this, Vick just threw a pick to lose the game. All QB's tend to do this when coming from behind, not just Romo.

Things to feel good about:

The offense is back and will get better as Jones and finally Austin comes back. I think Robinson should start the rest of the way unless Austin can prove he will stay healthy though. Our offense will suffer if Austin comes back and he and Romo are not in sync or if he drops a few while he gets back to speed. We don't loose much offense with Robinson. We do it differently, it's like Glenn verse TO, imo. But we still move the ball and score.

Garrett ran a straight up FB lead block give Murray the ball from 2nd and goal. If he starts to believe in this, we'll be better in the red zone.

Lee would have stopped Jackson for 2 yards if he had both hands on one of those big runs. As he and Carter get back up to speed, our run D will improve.

Once Jenkins gets back, we'll have a very good secondary. They have been doing a good job without him, but he's better than all of them but maybe TNew.

Tanner is like Barber without dancing. He just takes what's there plus another yard or 2 on effort. No dancing around or running backwards trying to make a play. The end result might sometimes not yield a great play like Barber used to make, but it gains yards rather than losing them on many others.

Bennett caught a pass today for a first!

We're a good team. We're not as bad as we looked against the iggles and they are not as good as they looked against us. I still see 10-6 being the realistic max for the team this year just cause it's the NFL. But if we get to the playoffs, we have a chance.

I look forward to your stories of tacos, pie and the occasion well though out response, discussion or argument. And even if we disagree, at least we can feel great about a dominant win!

I was very Happy to see Dez play very well today. If this game is closer Dez has a huge day IMO. Good read.

I agree about Dez, he looked great today. He bailed Romo out on that TD.

so everyone yells "throw it up and let Dez make a play"...and when he does now its "he bailed Romo out on that TD" ?.....typical

...sometimes it's better not to overreact one way or the other.

As good as the team looked today they just as easily could have laid a goose egg.

Whether it is due to injuries, inexperience or just plain bad luck this team is inconsistent. Let's hold off the reactions until we start seeing some real trending.

Till then they are exactly what their record says. Middle of the pack and inconsistent.

What? Um, no. It's Romo under threw that pass and with a lesser WR or a better CB that is either incomplete or picked. Factually speaking, Dez bailed Romo out on that play, it was under thrown. But that is why we got Dez, because he can make plays like that. Had it been Ogs in there, it would have been picked or deflected.

Romo was great today and usually is, that was a bad throw. Good decision, under thrown.

Nice post SAR.

I think this team is starting to find its groove both offensively and defensively. I don't think we are entirely where Garrett wants us to be as we are still missing two pieces on this roster (Center and a complementary pass rusher).

I think 10-6 with a playoff spot is a realistic possibility. We will need to go 5-2 the rest of the way. The next 3 are near must wins for this scenario to play out as we have a rough final quarter with NYGx2, Phil and TB and I find it hard to believe we will be better than 2-2 over this stretch. We still have trouble against DLs that generate pressure from the front 4. Our best approach against such DLs is to run it more consistently and with Murray and Fiammetta we have a shot at being able to pull this off. I actually worry more about our defense down the stretch as our pass rush is still feeble without a blitz as team's know to double Ware and make someone else beat them.

Nevertheless, I can clearly see where Garrett is trying to take us. He wants speed and instincts at ILB so we can play the run and the pass and we may have that soon with Carter and Lee. We want to prevent big plays in the passing game so we have good tacklers in the secondary and we don't gamble too much with our safeties. We want a balanced offense which will pick away with power runs, draws, screens, short passes and deep shots down the field to keep the defense off balance.

I can see us threatening anyone but I don't think we are ready for a SB run. However, I can see us contending next year more realistically.

I think Oscan played a good game today and has played well all season. The light may have come on for this guy.

The O line has been playing better. I don't recall Romo going to the turf more than once or twice the last two games.

These two safeties are playing well together. After all the big plays we gave up the past few season's, this year has been a nice surprise as far as safety play and giving up the big play.

The FB can block.

I disagree. Other than the iggles game, it's been injuries that lead to most of the inconsistencies.

I'm not overreacting, I'm thrilled because Garrett finally used the running game including in the red zone and to close the game out and it worked.

I do agree we need to see some trending though, and not just against suspect teams. Using the running game will go a long way towards getting the trend going.

Great post, I too worry about the D more. I do think if Lee is able to play without a cast at some point, Jenkins comes back and Carter can contribute more, they'll be much better.

I love Garrett the HC, still suspect on his OC job but I was happy he ran a lot more today in the right situations.

Dude, lol, should I ignore that it was underthrown??? All I said was Dez bailed Romo out and he did. I also said that's why we got Dez, because he can make plays like that.

I'm praising Dez more than criticizing Romo, but Romo deserves criticism for it because he does that often.

Why does it bother you if someone points out Romo was brilliant but acknowledges one bad play?

...are part of the answer, but there are issues with this offensive line and it's ability to handle slanting defensive pressure on run gaps.

A certain poster here has made mention of the difficulty members of our line have in going lateral to create those gaps.

I think Tanner has some trouble with some of those gaps disappearing on him today. Murray overcame some of those issues with some amazing jump cuts to gain the edge.

Since the start of the season I have always felt that Garrett misses having a power running game. One that he could rely upon for three yards when the defence knew it was a run.

I still see a team in certain areas/aspects of the game yo-yoing up and down from one play to the next.

Garrett's work still isn't done in terms of acquiring the type of players he needs. It looks to me to be a playbook of constant "work arounds" to accommodate what he thinks his offence can give him.

Ryan is truly stuck with age issues at the LB position. He is going to do what all DCs do when faced with this - try to hide his warts. Ex. at least on three plays he dropped the slot DB into the middle of the field to the second level. I think we all know who he was trying to cover up for.

This is a team with a great future under this HC. I just believe that it's going to take some time to get there and we may not have enough time this year.

Think 91 Cowboys here.

Totally agree! The ball has to take a few Cowboys bounces for us to go far this year, imo.

It goes both ways. Last week, Romo put the ball right in Dez's chest on the slant for what would have been an easy TD, but Dez dropped it. Today, Romo underthrew one and Dez made the play. Doesn't mean either one is a bad player. You can almost always add a "yeah butt" to just about any play. I think your point was more to praise Dez than criticize Romo.

Very good post, I mostly agree. Only area I disagree is I think what Ryan is doing with the D Garrett needs to do more of with the O, hide the warts. I think Garrett tries to make the warts play beautifully at times and is shocked when they look like warts. He needs to realize they are warts and hide them.

Well said. To be honest, my point is to go out of my way to mention that I see the faults because otherwise the haters will ignore the quality points and tell me I can't see Romo's faults.

I expect every QB to have a few off throws, what separates them is the receivers who go and get it anyway or just pull up and let it get picked.

Proving yet again it's so much more than just the QB.

Nice post shockandroll. Agree with pretty much everything you said.

Personally I stay away from the prediction threads, especially leading up to big games like this one. I told Catch17 earlier last week that I wasn't making any predictions, just had a gut feeling we were going to roll the Bills. 44-7 definitely falls under the "getting rolled" category.

I agree about Miles. I hope he sees what is going on with Laurent Robinson and plays with a chip on his shoulders. We cannot afford him to get the dropsies or have another set back. He needs to come back 110% healthy and be ready to make plays consistently.

Murray is the real deal. And fans cannot say, "Well, it was the Bills." This was a huge win, and a much needed to win against a good team. Not just a good team with a big play offense, but a scary AFC team who can beat anyone on any given Sunday. But we came out on a mission and beat them handily.

Dez is who most of us thought he was. A dang good WR who can run more than two or three routes. Yeah. Yeah. He still needs to polish his route running, but this kid is special.

Witten is the best TE in the game. And Romo is a top 5 QB. Our QB is healthy and it's November. Not a good combination for opposing teams.

Next up is the Skins at Fed Ex Field. Then at home vs. the Dolphins for Thanksgiving. Time to keep this thing rooolllling!

Nice post and thanks. I think I've learned to add to your not predicting games but also staying away from claiming what Romo is. He's really good and that's good enough to me. He's anywhere from top 5 to top 15 and lots of guys can make a case to be in that club different weeks.

I really don't care anymore how good Romo individually is. I care how good the team is. If they are really good, he's more than good enough.
