Trigg is a recieving TE.

Schoon is a blocking TE.

You are using the wrong criteria to judge them.

When Dallas drafted Schoonamker, Dalton Schultz left in free agency and Jake Ferguson was coming off a 19 catch rookie season.

The Cowboys had no idea Ferg would emerge so they drafted Schoon out of need.

And blaming anyone other than McClay imho is a macro failure.

Yes, the value pick. Someone that fell out of round 1 due to a career threatening injury. We take a second round flyer on those guys because who needs depth when your starters are so good?

Exactly. People forget this or choose to ignore it. Go back to 2024 when Ferguson was hurt and Schoonmaker produced at almost exactly the same level as Ferguson.

Having said that I think this team wants Spann-Ford as the number two guy (that's why he didn't play last night and Schoon did). And why I still think Schoon can net a late round pick in a trade.

Schoonmaker filled in for Ferguson fairly well last year. When Ferguson was out with his concussion issue.
Many will not admit that though. They expect a Kelce type performance every play from him.

Huh??? Exactly when and how did we arrive at the conclusion that Schoon does not love football? Every chance he's had he's produced. Check 2024 again when Ferguson was injured. It's just that Schoon doesn't really have a role in this offense because he's a Ferg clone.

Schoon for sure. People don’t like him I get it but if he was our starting tight end I believe he’d produce just as much as Ferg.
