How will he do this exactly in your eyes, what will be different, how did he actually convince Jerry that there's actually a culture problem with this team? What plan does one need to fix a problem that has plagued this team for years. He's going to have to wash out and reprogram a lot of these players that have been here for several years! Will it be easy, will there be some resistance?

Are all of his assistants on board and ready to take on this challenge. Do the players want the culture changed, or will we continue to see what we see with this team, and hear what we hear about this team from former players?? Interested in your thoughts, please give them!!

Shotty wants to change the culture, but what does that really mean to you?

Answer: That he is attempting to do the impossible. Good or bad, culture is dependent upon the examples it is based on.

A pre-March 28, 1994 Jerry Jones is a good example of what a championship constructed winning team should see itself as. Someone who should not eclipse the foundational leader as seen from the players' perspective, which is the head coach.

Dallas' culture requires players performing to their full potential as drawn out by their head coach. It does not require players performing to the expectations of a checkwriter's contractual demands. That mentality motivates players to only perform well-enough to get to their next contract. And that internal motivation ebbs knowing their level of play will not penalize how much they are paid.

Players must focus on one, solo rah-rah football leader. Their focus should not be divided or distracted by a pretend coach, who projects a 'winning attitude' he never achieved on an NFL field. Effective coaches can make players run through brick walls for them. Front office billionaires will fail in inspiring the same in their employees.

Brian Schottenheimer's success hinges partially on players adopting the winning philosophy of coaches teach and players excel beyond expectations. To do that, players must be de-programmed from thinking teaching and performance is bound by a non-player/non-coach's obsession for self-credit.

Did you hear Peyton Hendershot talking about the difference between the Chiefs and the Cowboys? He brought up again the fact that Dallas is more about show and marketing than winning while the Chiefs are 100% focused on winning. Where does that show and marketing culture come from? Certainly not the HC. It starts with Jerry and no HC is going to change that.

This is not the first time we've heard the players talk about this. Jerry know the score and it is why he picks coaches that will not challenge his way of doing things.

I think/hope that means to put football and winning ahead of branding and podcasting etc. but that won't be easy when the owner would rather you focus on your brand instead of your blocking and tackling.
Exactly!! So what's going to happen at the first brink of a game being over or an injury update, WHO is going to be first the coach or owner we know the answer

Yet he gets emotional like he'll do anything to win, get away move on then we will win

It doesn't matter what the fans think about the culture of the Cowboys because it has nothing to do with the fans. The culture comes from the players and their coaching staff. That relationship is starting anew with new coaches and players coming. So, it's yet to be seen what will be. Our new HC who I call BS will be a large factor in what that culture will be. Change is definitely needed because what has been has not been good enough.

Hard to change the culture when its set by the owner/gm and idiot son.
Exactly. Who is responsible for long-term, so-so results?

Players and coaches have been continually recycled for the past 30 years. Churn churn churn. Jerry and Stephen Jones has not.

Both are the one constant within the franchise's three-decade old culture lacking total killer commitment in challenging for the league championship. That is sad.

What is more sad is the fact both can self-regulate themselves to a less managerial influence by simply hiring qualified executives as general manager and chief operating officer. Keeping the titles of owner/president and co-owner would remain completely respectable to everyone. And the transition would make them as profitable or more profitable than they have been.

It is a win-win alternative for doing things. The alternative fails simply because one individual believes owning something automatically makes him the only person capable of managing the team. I will always put more emphasis on the father because the son would be absolutely nothing without being gifted with responsibility he was and remains totally unqualified for.

Current Chiefs and former Cowboys TE Peyton Hendershot on the culture differences between the two teams: "This is throwing no strays... but I just feel like when I came to Kansas City... my first experience in the NFL was the Cowboys so that's all I knew... I just feel like here it is strictly football and winning. Nothing else but just football and winning." "And I feel like with the Cowboys it's a little bit more like... the public image. The extracurriculars that come with it, too. And here it's just... let's just win football."

Nothing. The Jones' still run the team and any coach will be facing the same headwinds that everyone before them has.

I don't know if there is anyone that could truly change the culture around here under the current management regime.

When all is said and done, the team, collectively and as a whole, will default to cultural factory settings.
And that is to promote marketing a brand and money over winning as demonstrated by its owner/GM.
As a player, sell out for the second contract and the generational wealth it brings, and coast accordingly thereafter.

But in the meantime toe the company line and say all the right winning team cliches publicly while actually winning absolutely nothing on the field.

This is the 1996 to present day Cowboy Way.

Schottenheimer couldn't change this if his life depended it on it. Not even remotely close. More like continuation of the same. Sad times.
smh

Not this team has a cultural problem. This franchise has one. And it is because of the family its owned by.

You wont change anything if you dont change the owner. And that would be to start putting winning something meaningful at priority #1

And thats why we gave Shotty that HC job. Because he will not try to change something.
If Schotty would be the guy to try to change something to the positive here, his name wouldnt be Schotty and he wouldnt have applied for an interview here.

Schotty will blah blah and rah rah... Of course. Because that IS the culture of Jerry Jones and his cohones (SJ).
You talk a lot of crap hope people buy it and so buy your merch crap.

Rinse repeat.
