Should Cowboys trade up to early 2nd round and get DT Christian Barmore?

Whether it's Barmore or just someone else very capable, I'd be satisfied. We have many needs to be addressed. Move up? No thanks.

So you're 100% sure all 3 of our third round picks would be valuable contributors?

I'm 100% hopeful -- being 100% sure of any draft pick is for fools! Barmore is good but not a lock. We also have a 2nd round pick. o_O

We are not going to fix this defense in 1 draft. I would rather walk out with 2 quality players today that could make real impacts then end today somewhat satisfied that we took 4 bodies that address needs. I hope we see at least one trade up today.

Corner at 44 is good value here. After the next 4-5 guys, there is a steep drop off.

Yes, it's not very encouraging considering the Defense Quinn created and left behind in Atlanta before coming to Dallas. Yuck.
The defense in Atlanta was put together by the general manager, Thomas Dimitroff. He was doing all the predraft shows saying as much. The defense was ok until the injuries to Neal/Jones then Beasley regressed. They would have whooped us in 2016 if we got by the Packers. I think Shanahan cost them that Super Bowl.

So Quinn as head coach had absolutely no say in who to draft and build that Defense in Atlanta for those years?

If Barrmore is a David Irving, Leon Lett, Chris Jones type of tall d-line....i am all for it

Barmore will be a rookie. Those you named were established pros. Big difference there.

He had a say and the team went to the Super Bowl. We would be dancing in the streets If MM had Quinn’s success with the Falcons. I get the impression that Parsons was Quinn’s pick. MM is basically doing his Jason Garrett impression.

Is he worth using picks to move up. Just because he is the best in the draft don’t make him worth it. We need to address the position. We get 2 third rounders and need a lot of D help. Maybe the best available player at 2nd round.

While DT is a great need, and I think Barmore or Nixon or even McNeil would be a great pick in the 2nd - even if I probably wouldn't trade up unless the cost was day three pick(s).
Dallas also needs a CB, and the really good ones are running out fast.
Dallas also needs a FS, and they have a pretty good shot at Moehrig, Grant, or Holland.

So I suspect round 2 to be a FS and with 3 round threes Dallas will address DT, CB, and hopefully another DT, but probably a OL or DE.

Yeah, I have to believe Chicago asked the Cowboys first. That made the most sense.

That doesn't make any more sense than trading with the Giants, other than it would've cost the Bears a little more.

Nope, .and .i'll be willing to bet the Cowboys don't even have Barmore in consideration for 44th overall.
Some questions about motor and being an one track pony (all pass rush, no run defense) and some are questioning if he's more of a nickel rush role at NFL than full time
starter - maybe Its a reason why he wasn't drafted in first round.

The CBs available are more of a 3rd round grade. All of the top CBs (5) got taken in the 1st round.

This is why Jerry should have traded down a 2nd time in the 1st round in order to pick up an extra 2nd round pick. When he refused to trade down a 2nd time but instead settled for LB Micah Parsons with that 12th overall pick, Jerry pretty much gave up drafting a top CB in this draft.

Christian Barmore is the best interior DT in this draft. Best to move up 10 spots to get the best DT in the draft than overdraft in the 2nd round for any 3rd round graded CB.

A CB can be taken in the 3rd round, hence not as good as they would like because of the value remaining for said CBs.
I don’t know if he settled for parson
He was the top LB on most everyone board
As for trading up in second I’d rather add another second
Barrimore could probably help this team but so could many others
Still good safeties out there
I’d go all in on adding a second and we might get a good DT and safety in the second and still have a 3rd and 4th
