Just to get some of the rust off, to get some continuity with the offense??? Nobody wants to see anyone get injured, but I can see now in this first game if it's sloppy people saying "he should have played in the pre season!" Why not have Coog starting another thread, asking a question that WILL be discussed after/during this game! Please give your thoughts, I know you have them!!

The amount of games for real now and soft tissue injuries and older players took full off season play away from management attempts to protect major players.

Preseason doesn’t knock rust off. One of Daks best openers came against Tampa Bay and he had no preseason.

The idea that a handful of low-risk snaps in preseason gets players ready is mythical.

Some like it, some don't, but it doesn't actually accomplish anything.
More reason to go to 18 a game season. Have 2 PS games for the player trying to make the last 8 to 10 roster spots and PS players.

Or eliminate PS games altogether. NCAA do not have PS games.
However, that is a loss of revenue for the owners losing those 2 games.

Absolutely he should have played.

Weak *** culture has taken over this organization.

My guess is overall there is little to no data suggesting that playing or not playing in the preseason impacts a QBs early season performance. It's probably pretty split both ways.

The NFL increased the games where players have to run at top speed. That hits first at soft tissue injuries. Managing that high intensity attack on football athletes is a major concern.

Mix that with physical contact damages and their high cost players, changes are reflected in the off season.
