How many reasons do you want? Why not have Coog starting another thread
How many reasons do you want? Why not have Coog starting another thread
Not reallyHuge majority of NFL coaches disagree w/ you.
The NCAA is a horse of a different color. Not even remotely comparable.More reason to go to 18 a game season. Have 2 PS games for the player trying to make the last 8 to 10 roster spots and PS players.
Or eliminate PS games altogether. NCAA do not have PS games.
However, that is a loss of revenue for the owners losing those 2 games.
Save YOUR excuses to play your own tunes for about two months. This is a sport and will go head to head against you whenever you want to take it to the carpet.Absolutely he should have played.
Weak *** culture has taken over this organization.
Maybe some of the older/injury prone guys. Most do.Not really
There's probably a lot who just leave it up to the player, but most starting QBs don't play in the preseason.
There’s no proof of this. There’s no actual proof that the risk outweighs the reward especially when you have guys like Dak wearing a walking boot a month ago. What is the point? Goes out there throws 4 passes against backups and then what?It does knock of rust.
Cool you named a bunch of rookies, guys competing for a starting role, and two backups lol. It isn't even a majority.Maybe some of the older/injury prone guys. Most do.
Off the top of my head, starting QB's who played in the preseason: Mahomes, Anthony Richardson, Trevor Lawrence, Levis, Burrow, Love, Minshew/O'Connell, Josh Allen, Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Hurts, Stroud, Fields(maybe), Penix. There's 14 already. Most HC's in the NFL strongly disagree w/ you, and think the starter should take a few snaps/series to acclimate.
I agree. I’ve yet to see how this translates to regular season wins….The idea that a handful of low-risk snaps in preseason gets players ready is mythical.
Some like it, some don't, but it doesn't actually accomplish anything.
Then he's more ready to start the season. There’s no proof of this. There’s no actual proof that the risk outweighs the reward especially when you have guys like Dak wearing a walking boot a month ago. What is the point? Goes out there throws 4 passes against backups and then what?
Ah, the old "turn to insults" thingie. Good, means you're admitting you've lost this one.Cool you named a bunch of rookies, guys competing for a starting role, and two backups lol. It isn't even a majority.
You're just yapping for the sake of yapping. If you think Mahomes told Reid "I don't want to play in preseason" and Reid would force him you're out of your mind.
I’ve never heard that if that’s what they say can’t argue with guys who played the game but I’ve heard players say they hate the offseason and reason and wish they didn’t have only. Then he's more ready to start the season.
Players have stated for years that it's important to take some real game snaps before the season to "get used to getting hit". Not my words, it's what the players say.
You said "huge majority" and named less than half, including a bunch of guys who have nothing to do with this discussion. What I also said was that it is up to the players - the part which you entirely ignored.Ah, the old "turn to insults" thingie. Good, means you're admitting you've lost this one.
I didn't do any deep dives into who played and who didn't, did you?
You are now just blabbering and throwing insults because you know you've lost this one badly. Maybe go take some classes and learn how to communicate as an adult, hey? Maybe people would respect you then.
It doesn't.I agree. I’ve yet to see how this translates to regular season wins….
Except when you look at early season performance over the past 5 years, for veterans, there is no correlation between how well they play to start the year and whether they play in the preseason. It does knock of rust.
Training camp and off season are a continuation already.Just my line of thinking. Yes I want the starting QB to play. I want to see him move the ball with some success and then pull him out. You can not gauge where an offense is un-till they actually play in a game.
Post of the afternoon, we know how much better of a QB he is than Dak. Also he plays football which means he could have gotten injured, he didn't, and he as usual will most likely have a better playoff pushMahomes played.
looooooooool good pointHis preseason game is always week 1
