Video: Should Dak Prescott be concerned with Joe Milton joining the Cowboys?

Milton hasn’t been handed the job. He’ll be competing for it in training camp. In your mind the Cowboys aren’t competing for anything.
This is a team with one of the best edge rushers ever and they can’t make up their mind if they want to sign him for what it will take to secure his services. Jerry puts on a sports jacket, carries a tablet to scribble on at owners’ meetings, makes contentious comments about getting what he wants and preferring to pay more. He is playing owner/GM like little girls play dress up in their mother’s clothes and shoes. The Cowboys are a rudderless ship.

If ever a team needed an external candidate for their new head coach it is the Dallas Cowboys. They go with an internal candidate who’s had more football team employers than crossties in a railroad. I get every NFL fanbase sees a Super Bowl for their favorite team this time of year. Hell, I’m sure Panthers fans are fantasizing about their team’s chances this season. So are Cowboys fans. Part of the fun is convincing yourself your team is great. The season is going to start in September. Then it will all come crashing down with a thud.

This wishful thinking about Joe Milton is just another form of Dak hatred.
I was agreeing with you up until you said this. Wishing thinking, hopeful thinking, rooting for, or any form of support under any label for any player on this team is not rooted in feelings about Dak. That’s too black and white and it’s personalized through Dak. It makes it sound like it’s vindictive. If this was true then “Dak haters” would not support CD, Guyton, Tyler, Beebe, Hofman, Steele and everyone else who plays offense. If every prospect on the Dallas Cowboys were viewed through a lens of how he effects Dak then wouldn’t everyone who “hates” Dak would also “hate” everyone on offense that helps Dak in the game?

Milton is a prospect on my favorite team so I hope and wish he does well because then my team will be better. If Milton sucks then our QB3 or QB2 position suffers. If Milton is awesome then our team will be better.

That's too complicated. People who hate Dak want Milton, Lance, Rush, or whoever sits behind Dak to play better because they want Dak gone from the team. That can only happen if there is someone better to replace him. You can't apply logic, or a rational explanation because the Dak hatred is irrational.

Listening to Shady or The Facility tells you more than you want to know........Milton was let go from NE because HE felt he was better than Maye, but the eye test said otherwise, Maye was younger and the investment was higher, the Buffalo game that Milton played was with Bills 2nd stringers, and Milton didn't go to LensCrafters, fast enough.

That might apply to a very small number of fans that only view the Cowboys through the lens of Dak Prescott. They are not logical. Then there are fans that are not hyper fixated on Dak that see the Cowboys as a team that Dak plays on. If Milton plays up to his potential that only improves the team. If Grier or another veteran QB plays well that only strengthens the team.

What you’re saying applies to the fans that have put Dak on a pedestal either as the hero or the scapegoat. IMO those fans are irrational, regardless of what side of the spectrum they’re on. Other fans see Dak as a member of the team and they want the team to get better. Any prospect that wears the star whether QB or DT is a glimmer of hope for improvement and the better they play the better the team is.

Nothing worse than any so called Cowboys "fan" outright calling for their star QB to suffer a career ending injury. Sick. The absolute worst.
yeah, it is almost as bad as a so called Cowboys "fan" outright calling for their star QB to get assaulted by their team mates, getting the Gomer Pile treatment from Full Metal Jacket. I mean you can't make these kind of things up...

Everytime we add a QB a lot of fans here say Dak should be concerned. When we drafted Ben DiNucci in the 7th round some were saying Dak better start looking over his shoulder. Lol It’s laughable how the anyone but Dak brigade hyped up DiNucci.
Except this time, he should be concerned. Sadly, because he might not have much more in the tank, not because of talent.

He’s got his money so he’s not worried about losing his job to a 6th round pick. He knows he’ll be the QB for at least two more seasons with all the money the Cowboys owe him. It’s going to take another injury to get him off the field.

Big difference. Thought you were mature enough to understand the difference and why?

This is a serious question, and I invite anyone to respond. Are there still fans that put Dak on a pedestal? Before his contract, I was of the opinions he was a top 10 QB and good enough to get to a SB if he had the right team around him. Blaming Dak for the Cowboys misery was foolish because this team has been dealing with some gaping holes for a long time. It seems like the Cowboys front office is never going to do what is necessary to win regardless if they have Dak or not.

But when Dak took a $60 million contract he lost me. He has never been that good and he never will be that good. His contract hampers the rest of the team. No one thinks Dak is in the top echelon of QBs in the NFL. He is second tier at best, and he can easily slipped to the 3rd tier as he did last year.
