New England runs a two-TE system. They needed Ben Watson. KC's plan worked out well, then again alot of teams are drafting two capable RBs. KC would be well-served to do that again, before Herm ruins Johnson. Without looking at those drafts, and their team needs, it would be really difficult to tell if they would have been better served by taking another player. It's just be speculation.
and where do you get we need a CB more than a Safety? Did you watch any of our games? You honestly think if we took Reggie Nelson he would be burried on the bench? Behind who? Killer Keith and Pat Watkins? Please..........and to answer your question if you have two players grade dthe same then you take the player that fills the bigger need, but if you have a Safety who clearly grades higher than a CB, yes, you take the Safety without thinking twice.
When you draft based on need that's how you end up with the Shante Carver's and David LaFleurs of the world.
I have some hope for Watkins. I think he's got the talent, just not the brains or the body so far. I don't know that we'd be better served just starting over and replacing him. IMO, the best thing you can do for a secondary is improve the group in fornt of them. That's why I don't think we'd really see any difference with a rookie FS back there.
We need a CB more, because Glenn is old, Henry is showing signs of age, and I don't think Reeves and Jones are acceptable replacements, although Reeves has played well in spots. We'd be well served taking a guy like the Chargers took last year, if hes there.
