Leave it to Mike Fisher to come up with an idiotic idea like that.

Jaylon Smith, Randy Gregory, Trevon Diggs, Zeke, Dez, the list of clowns that we considered must sign guys is endless. I barely even know anything about these guys and I could still see all the red flags. Jerry is an weak emotional fool.

It's never about giving out 2nd term contracts, but it is all about making dang sure you are extending that contract to the right player.
This FO has a lot to learn about that.
They have failed miserably in that arena.

The problem isn’t that they give 2nd contracts, it’s that they pay those players like they are the only players in the NFL who are good.

They don’t know what the rest of the league looks like so they just assume they’re the only team with players as good as what they have.

If Jerry were gonna remove himself from the picture I’d say wholesale trade players for picks and start fresh. But it won’t matter with Jerry around so they’ll keep overpaying for good but not great players.

The Cowboys need to offer contracts that are proportional to their projected future contributions to the team.

They need to stop participating in the escalation of contract salaries and keep only those willing to accept a fair contract for both sides. They will lose some players that will become another team's salary cap headache but the overall cap will be distributed fairly and wisely.

The Cowboys need to stop marketing their best players as superstars. They need an infusion of blue-collar football players.

The Cowboys should not draft skill players in the 1st round unless he is a generational can't miss. they should use the 1st round for linemen and stay away from future prima donnas whose only record breaking quality is soaking up cap space.

I would rather have a starter that is a 2nd or 3rd round pick backed up by a 3rd or 4th rounder instead of a 1st round superstar backed up by a rookie free agent.

I do not thinks Diggs is a bad contract ........ I think Diggs is a ball hawk and would be great if we had any kind of pass rush .....
Diggs’ contract is a very bad one. Now that his brother has suffered a serious injury, and is a free agent in 132 days, Jerry will be anxious to have two Diggs on bad contracts.
