Should the Dallas Cowboys bring Ezekiel Elliott back?

I'm not evaluating what Zeke may or may not have left. I don't care to what degree Zeke is a corpse. He is on the good side of 30, available, presumably cheap, and a known commodity to the Cowboys. It has also been reported that Belichick blocked a Zeke/Dallas reunion last season meaning there is mutual interest. Dallas is already paying him $6 million in terms of a cap hit (is that right?). Dallas should be able to make him work based on money earned. I'm still convinced Roy E. Williams washes Jerry's car every week to make good on his contract but that is another story. I guess I wouldn't be surprised if Ezekiel Elliott ended up on the team next year.

I wouldn't be surprised, either. The Joneses like Zeke. Dak is his buddy. And he should be cheap.

Why? So he can hold out again and hold Jerry ransom? Screw that.

Perfect example of how Cowboy fans crave mediocrity.

if you are looking for a short yardage back, I would rather pick someone young trying to prove themselves than a past-prime multimillionaire looking for another payday.

Zeke = Championship. Do it. But still draft a RB.

I would love it just for the entertainment of the melt downs.
I mean no one is counting on us even to make the playoffs at this point. So the enjoyment of this would be great.

Ah, OL, TE, LB, he is a little versatile. Maybe even QB running
the wildcat, now that's more interesting if not intriguing.

If Zeke signed for the vet minimum, plus what we are already paying him anyway, then I’d be fine putting him in the RB room, not as a starter or even part of a tandem, but I’d be fine using him as a short yardage specialist and occasional blocker. If we get a rookie that can fill that role better than Zeke, then he becomes depth.

Not that it is a good or bad move. I just wouldn't be surprised is all.
No doubt, it's a bad move. The last two years he's averaged under 4 yards per carry. It isn't likely that it's going to get better at this point in his career.

I agree that it would not be a surprise, though.
