Since we don't even have any comp picks, it would be hard to do it unless its a really good deal.
No.
And I am unanimous in that.

I think this is the first year to trade them?????
Not only no but hell no.Should the Dallas Cowboys trade up in the first round?
A little sarcastic for the reasons you mentioned, but a well placed move up and great pick would go a long way in helping this team win, now.I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.
There's a legitimate chance that after 2017, we'd have a 1st, 2 2nds, and a 3rd all under the age of 28 that arent even on the team anymore.
From trading up.

It's not just that this is a deep class, it might be the deepest class ever evaluated (not hyperbole). There are likely to be starting caliber rush ends available in the third, maybe fourth round. There will WR better than Terrance Williams available four rounds deep. There might be 15-20 starting caliber CBs and about a dozen safeties. There are going to be players this year available in the fourth round across the board that would have been second-round picks in other drafts. If our FO does its job, we will upgrade at least four positions and maybe five just from this draft. That's why you don't want to trade up and burn extra draft picks and that's why you don't want to extend yourself in FA unless you have a specific player that just screams fit and wow factor.
There are two areas where this draft isn't deep - QB and OL. Lucky for us those aren't high on our priority list right now.
Cleveland also picks at #12. They can get a QB there or trade that pick to NE for pretty boys backup. With Cleveland looking to take Myles, they'll probably be looking for one, the teams behind them might be looking for one. Cleveland might want to secure the pick, or someone might want to jump them. 28 is a good spot to be for that.
If we can get an extra pick at the top of the 3rd, or more, I'd have to really love a player to stay at 28 because the draft is so deep.
But the more Cleveland is tied to Myles in first, the more I'm thinking that's an option.
Trade our 1st and 2nd to move up to 18 and take OJ Howard.
No....and if Dallas got a significant pick in exchange for Tony Romo, you wouldn't pair and move up a good bit?
Or use those picks on the place that needs it...the DL.

With possible trades on the horizon, Will the Dallas Cowboys look to improve their position prior to the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft?
The Dallas Cowboys have a lot of options in terms of what they can do in the 2017 NFL Draft. Currently they hold the 28th overall selection but could move forward if they get an opportunity. If Dallas does trade up they would need to likely give away several picks and or a player but it could be worth it depending on who they select.
There are plenty of teams in the NFL Draft that could be motivated to trade with Dallas and a lot of that speculation could come to a head at this years scouting combine. The Cowboys do have several players that teams could find interesting enough to trade for. The most likely player to be moved is obviously veteran quarterback, Tony Romo.
Dallas will need to think long and hard about how exactly they want to approach rebuilding their secondary. Both starting cornerbacks and the teams starting strong safety will hit the open market unless the team can re-sign them prior to the beginning of free agency...
Because the DE you would get by trading up 5 or 6 spots won't be any better than the one you can get at 28. Additionally you lose a later pick than can be used on defense. If a DE falls to twenty that Dallas has a top ten grade on then why the heck wouldn't Dallas trade up?
