Should the NFL expand rosters due to concussions?

Concussions have really taken a toll on teams as the new concussion protocols have been put into place. I think the NFL should expand the roster limits as well as the salary cap to allow for an equivalent number of players who have been impacted over the past couple of years. This would give teams much needed depth and keep the quality of the game up. I haven't seen this idea floated anywhere but I think the time has come to both address the safety issue of concussions and keep enough players to have a solid team as well.

contract back to 24 teams with 45 man rosters, and the quality football problem will go away.

I think this is a great question, and I believe they should expand the game day roster now that players are being pulled off the field with regularity due to the CP. And with the understanding that most hits cause minor effects over time that lead to CTE, the NFL can count the days until players are wearing flag belts.

Yes, they should. Pretty obviously so.

Expand Game Day rosters and reset practice squad back to 5 players.

So say bye to who, Cle, who are the other 5
This is so unrealistic as to be beyond entertaining.
The NFL isn't giving up 6 franchises and if it did it would immediately boost another league to NFL-like status with a couple hundred known NFL talents now available to them.
The issue with quality is exacerbated by small rosters which is an actual fix the NFL could institute immediately with likely no impact on their bottom line since these guys would still need to fit under the same cap.

No and sports in General has a concussion problem. It’s not just the NFL.

Women’s Soccer has concussions at a higher rate then the NFL.

Amend the Salary Cap.

Teams that draft well should be able to retain everyone they drafted without Cap restraints while limiting who they can pursue in FA. If you draft well with a great eye for talent your going to amass talent and be able to retain it building dynasties. If not your going to be limited in buying other teams talent.

College teams field about 80 players. NFL teams begin training camp with 80-90 players. Practice Squads should at least be increased.

The NFL is a wealthy league . No reasonable reason to not have more players on a roster and depth would increase if you could retain veterans beyond their prime without it hurting the Cap.

You have eight spots for inactives. The concussion protocol is largely a joke.

So no

I would like to see the roster expand from 53 to 57. Being that it's a quarterback-driven league all teams must Carry three quarterbacks.
That being said the emergency quarterback long-snapper, punter and place-kicker do not count against the 46 game day roster. That would give teams 3 extra players as to my understanding the emergency quarterback would not count against game-day active players. To offset some of the cost practice squads can go from 10 to 8 Players.

No but the full 53 man roster should be allowed to dress and play each game.

No, they should not. The inactive rule allows teams who have injured guys to not get trucked by teams with 7 more healthy played. Without a seven day DL or something similar, you create a massive imbalance.

All 53 should be eligible to suit up and play and change the roster protection rules.

I want the full 53 active. I want to be able to call up a PS player and put him back without having to cut him. I want a DL like baseball. Twist an ankle and miss two games should not mean you are short handed. 2 week DL, fill the spot on the 53, and go about your business.

How would that improve the depth at all? There's only so much talent. What's the difference between stashing a street free agent level player at the bottom of your roster or signing him when a player goes down?
