Should we be concerned about Micah's longevity?

But Ratliff didn't have as much talent or motor as Micah...which the motor is sort of bad for Micah's longevity because he doesn't know when not to give it his all. They need to stop playing him at DE so much unless he bulks up massively in the off-season, but that might be bad.
Yeah, bulking him up might reduce his bend and his speed.

Micah needs to go back to his natural position. I don’t know why people like Skip want Micah to be LT, which he’s not.. he’s getting tired and worn down at DE.

He can do both.. come playoffs he won’t have anything left in the tank at this rate.

Ineffective lately? Do you watch the games? Just curious.
I do watch the games I'm comparing him to what he was last year.
remember when everybody was throwing around the term "generational talent" you don't hear that anymore do you?
I really love the kid, I just think we could get more value elsewhere.

At this rate he will have a very short career, his speed will only go so far, his body is already breaking down

Only longevity anyone should be concerned with is how long Jerry Jones will continue to haunt this team.

Having him rush the passer takes 2 blockers away on many plays, causes false starts, and pressures the QB. I'm not sure we win against the Titans without him on the D-Line. That said, they are overworking him, whether he wants to be in or not.
I get that he ties two blockers but there are other guys that can rush the passer too. They may not be anywhere near as effective but that's where some of these guys need to step up and have a rotation. It's almost as though the players themselves are relying on Micah instead of stepping up to help him like they did earlier in the year.

Last year there was no book out on how to stop him. It is very clear this year teams have figured out how to neutralize him, but by doing so it has opened up other players on the D line to step up which they have for the most part. The easy solution is to find a pass rusher, but we know how the Jones' work....

Ineffective? No. He hasn't gotten sacks, but he's in the heads of the opponents, causing false starts, taking up their blockers, and still getting pressure to cause mistakes and throwaways.

Definitely he's an incredible player but I see in 2 years us having to give him some giant 15 or 20 million a year salary and him being used up.

Or he takes the Zeke Root and tries to negotiate some big salary increase early and then goes belly up on us.

I'm not saying he's not a great player I'm not saying he's not an asset he opens things up for other players like you say because he gets in their heads and they a lot a bunch of personnel to try to stop him which opens things up for other people .

But he is getting used up like a pack mule with the way they're using him and my feeling is play at the New England way trade while they are worth maximum value don't invest in a huge contract where someone is used up.

As much as everybody loves him right now if Jerry gives him 15 or 20 million a year and he becomes a shadow of his former self because he's been asked to go up against 300 plus pound men on a regular basis.

All the people that think he's great right now will be bashing him on this forum as soon as he doesn't quite perform up to what they expect his salary is

I'd love to see the guy remain a cowboy but can you imagine what hes gonna ask for in dollars and what Jerry is going to throw with him?
No, I trade him while the iron is hot and take the picks. Grab a blue chip quarterback and a absolute stud DT

Micah Parsons is almost identical physically to Von Miller.

Von Miller is still a beast in his 30’s.

I’m not worried about Micah LONG term.

Yeah he is tired in 4th quarters. Why? He is playing like 80-90% of the snaps in Some games. He played 90% of the snaps in the eagles game. And y’all question why he needed a timeout at the end of the game.

“why is this guy tired after running a marathon”

Come on folks.

Unfortunately the salary cap forces you to have to do some very unpopular things that you don't want to really do for the good of the franchise.

Not the Jerry adheres to this in the slightest.

What teams that want to win Super bowls have the forethought and instincts to get rid of players before they require big salaries and cannot perform up to them..

Conversely they sign free agents at certain times to get them over the top.

Trading Micah before we pay him and he underperforms could be like the Herschel Walker trade almost.

If we could pick up three impact players on rookie contracts for what we could get for him it might very well be worth it.

Seems by mid-way thru the 4th quarter, he is starting to slightly struggle. I 100% understand why - dude plays full speed all out every single play.

Camera shots show him just gassed. When he is on the bench, he just looks beat and unhappy. Reading his comments tell me he would like to play more LB but he is dedicated to whatever the team needs, which is apparently him playing a DL. Are we seeing the beginning of the Cowboys chewing him up and spitting him out? Wanting 100% of him for 3 or 4 years instead of 90% for 7 or 8 years?

Will he reach a point and think to himself "man, I can't keep this pace and maintain a long healthy career. Maybe I need to look at playing somewhere else."

some of you must lay in bed at night thinking of these topics.

I'll say for the umpteenth time: matching up Parsons against offensive linemen who are significantly bigger will take its toll on his health.

We draft an elite pass rusher and some want to trade him off.
He’s a year 2 player that was drafted as an off ball linebacker that has been asked to be an edge player. It’s not an overnight change.

I think some of you would take the mystery box over a boat. “But the mystery box could be a boat!”
I cant hardly stand to read some of this garbage. For years we had no pass rush, we finally get one and now we say.... but he is going to break down, trade him away.

Imagine some moron trading away LT for draft picks. Better yet, imagine trading away Micah and drafting a QB that ends up being Ryan Leif.....Imagine JERRY doing that....smh

I don't think he'll be worn out if they stop abusing him and put him on the D-Line much less frequently.

You could very well be right and trust me I love Micah and would want him to stay a cowboy for his whole career. If there was no salary cap to contend with.

When I talk about trading him I'm putting my fan hood aside and purely looking at the business side of what would possibly be best in the long run for the team.

I look at Zeke He's an excellent player but we could probably have somebody do a very similar job for half the salary and have another impact player.

Unfortunately having a heart and running the team like a fan gets you one and done.
Running the team similar to the way the Patriots do seems to take you to a Super bowl providing you have your bases covered.

I'm "pretty neutral" on Micah Parsons. I worry more about the longevity of productive players.

If we keep lining him up at DE, he may be done sooner than that. Ratliff is the similar situation, and he was only effective for 1 1/2-2 seasons.

I got to agree KsK . As much as I've wanted to ignore it as a fan because I love watching Micah play. I love his hustle his work ethic his intensity.

But you and I know he is getting beat up because we need some dominant beef in the middle and this franchise has ignored that need since You and I discussed it on the old forum before they drafted Claiborne instead of dantari Poe.

The 17 game schedule is too much for any player.
