Should we be looking at any of these current free agents?

Donte Whitner | S | age 31
Leon Hall | CB | age 31
O’Brien Schofield | OLB | age 29
Dashing Goldson | S | age 31
Dwight Freeney | DE | age 36
Randy Starks | DT | age 32
James Ihedigbo | S | age 32
Andre Johnson | WR | age 35
Roddy White | WR |age 34

With all the help we need in the secondary and d-line, I just wanna know why we haven't made much of an effort to sign any of these guys that could really help us. I know most of these guys are past their primes but they can still be productive. Even WRs like White or Johnson could help take some pressure off Dez. Which of these players or other current free agents would you like to see Dallas pick up before camp?

Maybe Freeney or Hall but that's about it. They brought Hall in earlier in spring, but apparently passed on him.

They may after training camp or at least minicamp happens. I think they would like to evaluate what they have first. Money situation being what it is, I would imagine they would like to see if the team can perform without them first.

Hall interests me the most but we must not be too into him. Scandrick and Byron should be the only lock starters. I'm
Sure Church and Carr are too, but they shouldn't be

There's every reason to sign-up an older DE/OLB sacks guy, and to take a flyer on his still having something in the tank... cheap situational pass rusher.

It seems clear Gregory isn't destined to be an NFL player, so while the FO figures out the answer to the pass rush I can see signing Freeney just as a one year rent a rusher. Even at 73 he's far better at getting after the QB than anyone else on this roster.

Freeney as a situational pass rusher might help depending on what we have.....which we don't know yet. The problem is you can't just add him to the 90.....or the 53. Do you give up a roster spot for a spot starter and situational rusher or try to develop a longer term player.

Don't have to make any decisions on the 53 until the season is almost ready to start. For now, the only sacrifice is a UDFA. I like Freeney's chances of giving us something more than any one of the UDFAs. No brainer to me, but reality is, it's very rare that Jones & Jones Inc. have called me for advice... hence our lack of Super Bowl appearances all these years. *wink*

have you seen johnson or white play in the last couple of years? if they could take pressure off anything other than their own bowel movements, they'd be employed on a team somewhere.

sometimes i think people get some time machine and pretend the name has anything more than historical relevance and suddenly they are better TODAY than ANYTHING we currently have.

personally, i think butler will do just fine on the speed front and people forget we already brought him in AND have vested time to let him learn how dysfunctional we are so he can function properly in it.

freeney? really? yea, maybe randy white can still be good for a few downs.

ok, bad example. :)

but seriously - no. i don't we should be looking the who's who of yesterdays heros.
