At one time they did. Traded:
  • 2021 first-round pick (No. 12 overall)
  • 2022 first-round pick (No. 29 overall)
  • 2022 third-round pick (No. 101 overall)
  • 2023 first-round pick (No. 29 overall)
to get him.
After two years in their system, they gave him away for a 2024 4th-round pick to a conference playoff rival.. Doesn't that tell you something?

If the plan is to let Dak play out his contract this year, and move on next year, should we consider a QB in this draft? what if Pennix or Nix is there? or continue to develop Lance, or draft one next year? you thoughts
Thoughts baby!!!

If JJ McCarthy is there, I pull the trigger instantly.

But I’m not the GM of the Dallas Cowboys.

IMO, yes. They'll want to see if Lance has it, even though it didn't work out for him in San Fran, but, yeah, without Dak they should have a rookie compete with Lance. This team might stink up the place for a while, or someone might emerge as highly competent the way Brock Purdy did in SF.

Jerry was criticized for trading a 4th for Trey Lance.

Zero chance they draft a Quarterback. People want to forget (ignore) that # 1 priority for this team is not getting better; it's propping up the Owner's past decisions.

They gave him away for a sack of potatoes.
I do not think you understand the situation in San Francisco.

Lance had an outspoken obsessive large segment of the Fan Base. He was passed on for Purdy and keeping Him on the Bench was becoming a cancer for 49er Nation

He had to go for Unity

Everyone keeps saying He is Raw and His playing time had been limited. Yet here you are judging that small sample size

It is year 8 and Dak still can not read a defense or throw a back shoulder fade. Hitches and slants is all he can throw and even then he is late with His throws or His passes sail. Look what this franchise has accomplished with that stiff

This will be the year the offensive Line has Dak running for His life. Which will benefit the young legs of Lance

Lance will be fine.

We should have been drafting QBs at least every other year the last 30 years. Dumb and dumber don’t put any draft capital into the most important position on the field.
