Should we go after Revis?

You continue to overlook the fact that he gets $6 million no matter what. He's not going to get out of bed for anything less than that amount. You'd have to pay him considerably more than that. And nobody is willing to do that and that's why he's still out there.

He gets $6 million for not working, how much more would it take to get him to work?

“Unless a team pays Darrelle Revis more than $6M, he’ll play for the minimum,” Rapoport tweeted. “Why? [The] Jets owe him $6M with offsets. They cover costs up to $6M.”

The Jets released Revis late last month, with a $6 million guarantee remaining on the massive contract they gave him two offseasons ago. Thanks to that guarantee, Revis could theoretically sign with a team for the veteran’s minimum this coming season.

The NFL’s veteran minimum is around $1 million this season for a player with 10 years experience, a jump from $985,000 in 2016, and is expected to rise again in 2018.

Revis’ previous contract stipulates that the Jets will receive a credit for any money that he should make elsewhere this season: So, for example, if Revis signed with a team for $1 million in base salary, the Jets would owe Revis $5 million, not $6 million.

I understand the offset language just fine. I also understand that the guy isn't going to pay for the same amount he could make for doing nothing. If you want to try to make the case that he'll pay for free, the floor is yours.
