Wait, I read the first post thinking this was clearly a joke. Then I read the responses...

Can I get a face palm please?

yes, Yes, YES! I'm not one to play Madden and I believe in Romo but when Peyton Manning comes free, you do what you got to do to get him.

There would still likely be plenty of griping going on from some. Peyton has a career playoff record of below .500, with 8 one-and-done appearances. He threw the game-losing Int in the super bowl vs. the Saints. Threw 4 Int's in an AFC championship game vs. the Pats, and had 3 turnovers in the playoff loss last year vs. the Ravens (and 2 of the Broncos TD's came off of kick returns).

Peyton is undoubtedly one of the best ever...and still isn't perfect.

If we're gonna play the wishing what if's...why not say we should've drafted Rodgers at #22 instead of Spears...when Rodgers went #24 the same year they took Ware at #11? How's that for a what if 1st round? How bout another? They could've had Brees...and Sean Payton was already in house lol.

Peyton wouldn't ever come here to play, but in hindsight, looking at how he's playing in Denver, you absolutely make that move if it was available.

we don't have near enough smart players to work with peyton.......... nor the o- line for him to make it out of the dress rehearsal preseason game.

denver and john elway threw the dice on how bad his neck was injured...

they have rolled 7 or 11 ever since.

denver might go to the dance this year...even with their starting center out for the year.

Could you imagine Peyton playing with Ogletree last year? I think Peyton would have just retired in the middle of the game.

Lol. I opened the thread thinking Sean Payton!

He was the Payton I wanted,

That's what I thought too, reading from my phone. I have literally never thought about P. Manning as a Cowboy, past-present-or future.

Sure, if he wanted another neck surgery behind these lines the past few seasons. No idea why he didn't sign up for that...

I remember he visited the Titans too. But I think his decision was based on going to a SB contending team so he chose Denver.

I don't think we would have even been on his radar.

I bet Jerry regrets it now . We would probably win back to back superbowls . We could have had him for free as a free agent and we could have revis teamed up with Brandon Carr . The question isn't when we wouldve won a superbowl with Peyton but how many ?

Peyton did not want to come to the NFC and face Eli. This is a well documented reason why he didn't sign with the 49ers. But somehow you think he was going to come sign with a division rival?

Come on man!

Did some of u guys say no Oline, lol- Peyton makes OL look better than it is. Believe me if we did sign Peyton, how many good solid Olineman would have came to Dallas to block for Peyton.... Spencer for example never gets franchised, that money goes to Olineman
BTW 13-3 and a shot at the SB is better than 8-8 and not sniffing the playoffs....

We wouldn't even have to consider this question if we would have drafted Tom Brady in the 5th round of the 2000 draft.:) Hindsight is great, isn't it?

Here's a better idea: let's leave the Indy fans alone to ponder the Peyton/Luck choice. And the Viking fans to ponder Ponder (like why is this guy even drafted, let alone the 1st round). We have bigger fish to fry.

Is this a serious thread?

1. How could the Cowboys have afforded Peyton Manning?
2. Why would Manning want to join a team like the Cowboys?

In other news, a frequent reader of the website "Cowboyszone" shot himself in the head repeatedly with a BB gun after reading this thread.
