Should we really keep Ferris?

I'm not convinced that we should keep a guy that can't kick into the endzone consistently. I could care less about his 40 or his bench deal at the combine!!

Deon is hurt at this moment and I think Crosslin deserves a roster spot. I also saw more from Carpenter then anything I ever saw from McGee. I know Mcgee is here to stay, but it's wrong.

I would rather keep Cross then Ferris. I think he's had a great preseason. Tonight he reminded me of the dude from Baltimore last year that had one of those long runs against us.

BTW the backup Oline is not that bad.....See ya Procter...I thought the "Duke" had a pretty good game.

What do you think?

Yeah let's keep our 4th string camp body QB that played only 1 half in the 4th preseason game against the Vikings 4th string and he did solidly.

You are TREMENDOUSLY underestimating the value of field position my friend...

Here's a hypothetical situation for ya, if we need a long field goal to win a game and Folk knows he does not have the leg for it, Buehler has that much stronger of a leg that he could attempt it. Fullback is important, but keeping 2 FBs on the 53 is out of the question imo.

The Vikings were at the 20 all night. This is good

I wonder why they didnt let Buehler kick FG's though.....

Adam had an excellent thread about this.

The short answer is yes, we can and should keep him.

Seems like other teams have guys who can kick it out of the endzone and make FGs. We are probably keeping 6 WRs, so I don't know.

His kickoffs have tremendous hang time...just as important as distance.

Who has the sig with all the pictures with who they wanted gone after 2008? It had red 'x' through each of them? im thinking his collection is almost complete.

keep beeler

I didn't say we keep Carpenter.....I'm saying he showed me more than Mcgee! Both in the pro's and in college!!!

And on your hypothetical...if the guy that made two 52 yarders back to back in Buffalo can't make it...then it's time to punt!

I'm not saying keep two fb's...I'm questioning the health of Anderson!

Rudy started 53 games in college

I did say to win the game right? I should have stated with 5 seconds remaining, I dont think Folk has the leg to kick a 58+ yard FG, not saying Buehler does either, but I think he has a better chance.

LMAO, saw more from Rudy Carpenter in college huh? I have lived in Tempe, AZ (where Arizona State is locateD) the last 3 years and trust me, you have NO IDEA how much frustration Rudy put everyone through down here. They seldom won because of their offensive production...Rudy is a very very very tough guy, but he won't be much in the NFL...career 3rd string.

And I live in TX where I am not even close to being a Aggie fan...this guy had something in HS..but the Aggies took that away from him.....and ever since he has sucked! Yeah..he might be tough...but that's about it!

which fg's would he have attempted? we didnt try any tonight

Believe me....I'm all for the good field position..I still don't understand why Folk can't kick them in the endzone? Isn't that why we took him over Mason Crosby?

My main point is you're going to lose a promising (actual) fullback...because Cricket, who is injured, but he's not your prototypical fullback? I'm not convinced...regardless of ST's play!

Cross has shown me something...against the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd strings.

At all in pre-season....

We all love Folk, but itd be good to have options....

Buehler kicked one in the Oakland game, it was good from around 40 yds
