Should we take the offer and trade out for two firsts next year?

I expect this idea to go over like a lead balloon right now when draft excitement is at its highest... But should Jerry take one of the offers he said he had to do a 2004-style trade back for two #1s next year?

As anticlimactic as it would be right now, I think I might. Trading for future picks is one way to get ahead in a system built for parity. The Patriots among others have done this for years now. Yes, it's a letdown in the short term, but next year will be here sooner than you think.

Overall, this draft is fairly weak, and next year's should be better. Having two firsts might give us two excellent players, or we could use them to move up and get a guy like McFadden.

What do you think?

What exactly are the details? Details??:D

Yeah, that does matter. If it's the Pats, Chargers, or Colts, forget it. :)

But what if it's a mid-level team, like the Bills were the last time we did this?

I wouldn't do it.

I feel that the Cowboys are on the verge of being a great team right now.

A solid draft could put them over the top.

There are players who could help this team right now and I feel the team should draft them and not get cute.

Who knows what next year may bring?

Adams, Owens, Jones, and Glenn could all be gone.

I think the team needs to strike while the iron is hot, rather than waiting 'til next year.

Umm, why would we trade when we dont even know who might be there. I say wait till draft day, and make our choice then. Anything can happen with the first 21 picks. And if we have a gamebreaker sitting at 22, and we already traded the pick away two days before the draft, we're gonna look like morons.

Maybe, but I think I would rather not do that. Depends on who the team was and could our pick be a possible top 5. Looking at next years draft right now, it does not look to heavy with top talent unless you have a really high pick. That could change though.

I actually think this year I would trade up. JMO! If Peterson falls i would go get him, if not this draft has real good quality rounds 2-4.
I would try and use all those 5th, 6th and 7th round picks to move around and try to get more picks in rounds 2-4.

Depends on who is on the board and how high is that 2 that we get this year.

Definitely Maybe

A "definetly" in front of a "maybe" means nothing, a simple "maybe" would have sufficed!

huh, I'm fine with trading up or down or whatever. As long as we get good players!

I would do it in a heartbeat, with any team although it would be better if it was higher...

Two first rounders give you a lot of power if you want to move up high to take a special player (like McFadden)...

But you never know what might happen...

If you had been offered this trade last year and the two suitors were New Orleans and Pittsburgh, who would you have done business with...
