Should we trade down in 1st round?

If another team wants to trade up 1-5 spots to take a QB, than yes we should trade down. Otherwise we should take the best defensive player available unless there is some Demarcus Ware-like increase in one of the offensive lineman's stock.

This team needs quality, not quanity.

They tried to go the quanity route with the '09 draft and that proved to be a disaster.

That draft also produced Roy Williams. Any evaluation of 2009 draft class must include that.

Well, in all fairness, our first pick in the '09 draft wasn't until the 3rd round, so the chances of drafting a scrub/lesser player grew exponentially, as opposed to drafting in the 1st round.

Depends who is there at the time, of course. But if it works out, I'd love to trade down a few spots and pick up a 3rd or 4th.
