Should Witten have played?

I think it wasn't a great performance, infact pretty bad but it turned out well and now he has a game under his belt. Next week him playing this week will pay off for us. I think him playing gave us a huge morale boost.

I think the real issue was if he would be sharp without enough practice.

He didn't look great out there but 70% Witten is still a pretty good TE

You can't tell me his presence out there didn't change their coverages. The Giants don't know his progress. All they see is 82 out there and we have to know where he is at all times. Phillips and/or Hanna aren't going to get that kind of respect.

Witten is a warrior. Ring of honor and hall of fame candidate. I wish we had 53 players like him. However this is a young mans game. It's time to start grooming his replacement.

Uhh...let them get his spleen groomed first...!

If you fall asleep on Witten, he'll make you pay, if you try to take him away then it opens up the other targets. Witten isn't a burner, he just knows how to find the open spot and be where Romo expects him and as long as he's on the field, defenses will try to take him away so that Romo doesn't have his safety net.
