Should Zach Martin sit this week?

It is a non conference game.
Redmon / Cooper can fill in ok for Martin.

Eagles are sitting Wentz, playing at Rams. Commanders at Jaguars, and I think they lose that game.
So if we lose, we still may win the division.

Not the way you want to win it, but the health of the OL is more important for the playoffs.

Just a thought. Get some different topics out there over all the Dak talk.
No.

If DAK and Zeke and Cooper are there we play him.

If there is not an injury that prevents you from walking..

you play.

That's expected.

Brace the knee..

Cortisone injections

Pain relievers.

Ride the bike b\w series.

Keep the joint moving.

This is professional sports.

Martin is not practicing today.

Sounds like he won't play.

Smart move if i'm reading into this correctly.

Obviously if he can't play, sure. I think they need to play all remaining games as must wins. If they somehow were able to get the 3 seed. You could have the Bears going to LA and Dallas going to N.O, two match-ups that Chicago and Dallas won already, with the potential to host a championship game. I do not trust this team to be able to rest for a second, and then be able to "flip the switch" back on. We saw that in 2016, it took them 2 qtrs to wake up in that GB game.

I don’t see long term risk but sitting him would get him closer to full health for playoffs

There is never long term risk of injury to a player that is currently injured. Healthcare practitioners that tell you that are just selling their services. MD after a name is just a sham.

No one knows your ailment better than yourself. I self diagnosed myself with diabetic neuropathy. The reason I knew this was because I felt numbness in my toes and occasional sharp shooting pain there. I cut my toe accidentally on a sharp rock while gardening outside and used triple antibiotic ointment and cleaned the wound. After a few weeks, the wound had changed color and smelled pretty bad. Did I let that stop me? Hell naw! I kept working my schedule shifts and rubbed dirt on it to show the toes who was boss of my body. A week later I woke up in the emergency room a little dazed and my coworkers surrounding my hospital bed. They said I passed out, so they called 911. The doctors removed all my toes in order to "save my life." Then this really nerdy doc in a white jacket (who looks like he has never played sports in his life) tells me that I need to make better lifestyle choices if I don't want more amputations (diet, medication and other. Whatever guy, I'm the boss of my body. And when my candle burns out, I know I will have won the debate of who gets to decide stuff for me...

I'm sitting Martin, Tyron, limiting Dlaw and Zeke's snaps, and for the love of God stop making Byron take special teams snaps. Pull Dak as soon as the outcome is decided.

This game is a must win. Win the division and then rest him. The man's a warrior, he'll play regardless.

Yep, a different topic is good Jazz. I would rather that we play this game to win it as opposed to hoping the Eagles and Skins lose. I defer to the trainers on this one. It sounds like the same issue Martin has been playing through for a few weeks. I play him if he can go at all. Play for the win this week then he can rest and rehab that knee before the play offs.

There seems to be an assumption we are already in playoffs. We're not. Every game left is losable, you have to play all out at least until a spot is clinched.

YES, next question LOL

The Cowboys have over a 99% chance of making the playoffs.

I'm going to take my odds and not play key players who are battling an injury.

Wouldn't mind sitting him now then let him play vs tampa and sitting him or limitting his reps vs giants if we can.

It shouldn't be up to Zach or JG, it should be up to the medical staff. They would know the risks involved. If Doc says "he can't make it any worse by playing, he just has to deal with pain" and Zach says he can handle the pain, then by all means put him out there and see how he performs. On the other hand, if Doc says "if he plays, he risks worsening the injury and being out for an extended period of time", then I sit his butt, no arguments allowed. That would be my approach, anyways.
Read the post again. I said, IF he can play. Didn't think I had to draw a picture. Lol

a sprained knee ligament is something I would let heal rather than play through especially when it's more susceptible to tearing. I'm sure he can play through the pain, but we have enough playmakers to win a game without him. Don't want to see a stupid injury forced because of this.

It's simple. If playing means he can aggravate his current injury and resting will help it get better, you sit him, without any question.
