Would you bring him back and if so how? Tag or long-term deal......
Fairly sure that tag has Pollards name on it! Offer him something along the lines of what they gave Armstrong. If someone else wants to offer more for someone with his injury history and inconsistent play then take the comp and so be it!

Just to play Devil's Advocate here:
The Texans are a power running offense.
This is exactly the style that would be a mismatch for poor run defense.
Up until three games ago, that would be Dallas.
LVE played well today. Even the haters should cut some slack

Frankly, his day should've been much easier.
The whole team better tighten up next week.

the Texans have one of the worst ranked rushing offenses in the nfl.

He's still not worth big money. He's just a run player. He's not carrying receivers and tight ends up the field.
I’m not sure this is accurate at all. He’s been one of the better LBs in the league in coverage this year. The knock on lve all year has been his passive nature against the run. The guy has covered TEs and RBs very well.

When has he been covering a wr downfield?

And he was responsible for the Texans getting to the 1 yard line before dlaws play. Terrible angle

Let's see how he closes out the season...but I'm on board with bringing him back at around 6-6.5m/year. It seems the light is on and he's finally coming back around to showing what he did his rookie season.

That's the player we thought we were drafting........he's making it hard to let him walk.

LVE...looks very electric.
Damone Clark has joined 55 in tightening that run defense . Two solid backs last 2 weeks didn’t do major damage .

They changed things up scheme-wise after the Green Bay game (They gave up 207 rushing yards to GB and 240 to the Bears the game before that).
- One change was the technique/role of LVE.
- In the GB game and previously LVE was playing stack & shed.
- That's similar to a DLineman playing 2-gap. Engage the blocker and shed once the RB commits to a side.
- Now LVE is jumping into gaps which is more like the run & hit style he played in Marinelli's defense.
- We saw the positive results but we also saw the issues with shooting the gap on a couple of plays.

Clark looks fresh aggressive and has great instinct for getting to the ball carrier . 33 joining the lineup has helped 55 . I noticed Anthony Barr was active down near the goal line . The defense was constantly covering for turnovers and three and outs by the offense .

Having LVE play a shed and go technique made no sense to me. Because we play a one gap system. Everyone has their assigned gaps to attack. I used to always see LVE waiting for the blocks to come to him instead of attacking the line. I just thought he was scared to take on the offensive line, because of his neck injury or something.

But nice to see him playing different/better.

I think he increased his market by a lot
I like LVE but I don’t see us signing him
We have so many need to signs coming up at positions we don’t have the depth at
I’d love to keep him but I don’t think it happens

I agree but I say i'm not sure if they do it because I didn't think they'd re-sign Anthony Brown or Kearse. But come to find out Kearse's value wasn't nearly as high as I thought it would be. I think LVE may find him in a similar situation but maybe not. The linebacker market is hard to get a jist of.

No, it was never about the injury. That was the style/technique that Dan Quinn had him playing.

There were other changes to the run defense after the Packers game but they're more subtle and difficult to describe in a few words.

The run & hit style of shooting gaps was a big problem in the 2018 season playoff game vs the Rams.
- If LVE had played Stack & Shed in that game, the Cowboys could have won.
- The Rams scheme was designed to get at least 1 LB into the wrong gap.

He had a fantastic rookie year and then went downhill a little after that. He's not quite as good as he was when he was a rookie, in my opinion. He's a little bit slower and stiffer but his knowledge of the game offsets that.

He absolutely has a place on the team next year, in my opinion.

He played very well today overall.

That said, the second to last play near the goal line where #15 Moore almost made it in was a pathetic effort by LVE. He is absolutely glacial when trying to change direction. We are so lucky the receiver was stopped just short of the endzone. LVE should have had him dead to rights at the 3-4 yard line.

the Texans have one of the worst ranked rushing offenses in the nfl.

And yet, their starting RB is 7th in the NFL in rushing yards.
Like I was saying, the styles were a supposed clash.
