I’m a big LVE fan. Loved the draft pick. Loved his rookie year even more. After his injury he was a bit timid to really stick his head in there to stuff a run. Nolan’s awful defense was responsible for him getting hammered by offensive linemen. However, he has battled back and he’s looking like a really good NFL MLB. However, he is in the same boat as Dalton Shultz. They’re both pretty good, but we now have some rookies who can play just as good if not better. We have some big names to resign and will have to make some business decisions.

When has he been covering a wr downfield?

And he was responsible for the Texans getting to the 1 yard line before dlaws play. Terrible angle
Why would you want a middle backer manned up covering a wr?

The cowboys play 5-6 DB looks regularly, they should have better defenders for the job 99% of the time.

I think he increased his market by a lot
I like LVE but I don’t see us signing him
We have so many need to signs coming up at positions we don’t have the depth at
I’d love to keep him but I don’t think it happens
he is one of those type of players that can easily be replaced. with that said, it depends on the price. if its for a couple of Mill a year. why not. minimally he is depth.

not sure what free agent LBs there are and not sure if we need to carry three top LBs. I think Clarke is a star in the making. Parson is a star already.

so what other FAs are available? how much will they cost? we have to keep in mind we have Diggs and CD to pay soon. and if we decide on Pollard, then there is that too.

Would you bring him back and if so how? Tag or long-term deal......

Short term deal for me. I think he has shown enough to stay around, but not as a permanent fixture. But give him a 2-3 year deal with low guarantees/incentives I would be fine with that. Parsons is best as a hybrid rusher, Clark seems to be growing nicely as a LB but we still need one more solid LB. LVE is average overall, so no complaints if they keep him or let him walk.

IMO his neck will scare off other teams so I don't see a bid war to retain him. Plus, I think he likes Dallas.

That's the player we thought we were drafting........he's making it hard to let him walk.

Yep, played well after the early staking behind the wrong gap (as if he didnt want the open gap, preferring the physical challenge)....after he did well, probably played angry.

How much are you thinking John?

I think the closest comp, in terms of overall skill is Josey Jewell who signed last year a 2 year 11mil contract.
First year cap hit of 3.8 mil, second year of 7.2mil, but with such low guarantees the team can cut him year two and save 5mil in cap space.

Just to play Devil's Advocate here:
The Texans are a power running offense.
This is exactly the style that would be a mismatch for poor run defense.
Up until three games ago, that would be Dallas.
LVE played well today. Even the haters should cut some slack.

Frankly, his day should've been much easier.
The whole team better tighten up next week.
Props deserved......again......this was the Texans. When I see Philly, a run team and a good team......then I will heap praise. No hate, just ain't jumpin' up and down.

He’s gonna get more than a couple mil
I don’t know if he’s easily replaced but he’s the type of player you have to replace
As you said we have big deals coming to guys who are too good to likely replace
Pollard I would extend even if that meant I had to move on from Zeke. I love Zeke but I think replacing what Zeke brings is easier than replacing what pollard brings

If LVE is affordable, e.g. around $5-7 million per season, then the Cowboys should sign him. With Parsons having been essentially converted to a full time DE, the Cowboys need two good LBs, and LVE and Clark can be that duo.

That what the most physical I have seen him play since his rookie season, he usually tries to wrap up the ball carrier and drag him down, today he was physical at the point of attack and stopped the running back in his tracks.
maybe he finally has exorcised the rest of the personal doubts about his neck, last 2-3 games he seems to be stepping it up.

And yet, their starting RB is 7th in the NFL in rushing yards.
Like I was saying, the styles were a supposed clash.
And yet he hasn’t rushed for a hundred yards in a game and week . As I stated , the Texans have the worst rushing offense in the nfl

I found it amusing we had a post here in the FanZone basically criticizing LVE, then he goes out and has arguably his best game. He popped off the screen in an otherwise subpar effort by the Cowboys and showed some speed getting to the edge when certain posters said he was Woody Harrelson slow.

Good job, LVE!

It's weird. I was so mad about the Cowboys performance that I hardly noticed LVE, but everyone is crediting him with a great game. I'm glad and I hope he keeps it up. We need guys to step up with all the injuries.

LVE is having probably the best season he’s had since his rookie year. However, there’s still a lot of fans that have hated on him this season. Fans can be very fickle.

LVE deserves credit for more than one game. To be honest the entire run defense deserves credit for what they have accomplished the last few weeks as well. These LBs had room for improvement, but so did the front 4 in actually occupying blockers to keep the second level clean. Now that they are doing that LVE has looked a whole lot better. I think Clark getting on the field more has helped too. Not sure how related it is, but ever since Clark has been starting it seems LVE has been a more aggressive player.
