The fullback never gets any love these days but on the go ahead touchdown run and I think the run before I saw this team run out of the the strong I (if I'm not mistaken) and Clutts laid a couple great lead blocks to spring Murray loose! Hope this is a sign of things to come

I loved everything about him when he was in there except that short pass, which was not his fault.

Yeah I must say that I did actually notice some quality blocks from him in this game. And I usually do not register that he is in there.

Like most fullbacks he is the forgotten man lol but as a fan of the old school style of running I'm glad the Cowboys have elected to keep a fullback on the roster.

Fullbacks are making a comeback. Seems many F backs or H backs don't have the ability to block as well. I think most of them are too tall IMO. Haven't seen the All22 (think it comes out later today or even tomorrow) but I saw some good blocks.

I'm thinking we might see some increased action for Clutts. As long as he's blocking the way he did in Seattle, there's reason to believe his services may prove to be valuable going down the stretch. Whatever it takes to keep DeMarco out of harm's way should be worth doing. Keeping those big DTs off of him should help that.

you need to be short and squat- a real fireplug type- for the best blocking. At least shorter then most TE's are now

That's why I was in favor of keeping him on the team and letting Williams go. Not having a fullback makes short yardage situations very tough and makes it hard to run the ball when the defense puts 8 or 9 in the box. On the Murray TD, we see the Seahawks with 9 in the box (and really, it was more like 10 since Sherman was within the vicinity). We ran the ball anyway and Murray finds the crease and takes it to the house.

I honestly don't think we would have ran the ball or at least ran it somewhat respectably with 8 or 9 in the box and no fullback.

I believe you can never have too many good blockers on a team.

i think clutts has been an important part of the running game. and many wanted him cut but the kid is a solid blocker and thats the job of the fb, receptions are gravey. now if he could improve into a weapon as a recier some, maybe like moose was, then he could get even more snaps. but when we go heavy he does a fine job. and i still think he was the reason for the parnell pancake

I agree about the blocking but he's upgradeable imo. A better runner and pass catcher with blocking skills adds a terrific dimension.

The replayed showed Parnell had the man and got him turned, then Clutts comes in from the side and levels him.

That's what I saw anyway.

John Conner was available (now back with the Jets) and Tony Fiammetta is available right now. It's not difficult to find an upgrade to Clutts.

Watching the game replay I noticed Clutts completely understands his role as Demarcos dog. He was the first one running up to D Marc after good runs and they were shown sitting together on the sidelines with Clutts talking him up.

Murray seems to like the kid that's good enough for me.
