The problem I have with Spencer is that I don't think he has the hips/feet to drop back into coverage. Most scouting reports seem to confirm that he is very limited in this regard, and most feel that he just doesn't have the athleticsm to play OLB.

I don't think there is any way Levi Brown gets out of the top 15, I personally think he is a lock to go top 10. Too many teams craving a LT of this caliber IMO.

I would have to say the most interesting thing about this draft is the diverity of opinions on how the WR's stack up. It is going to be real interesting to see how these guys actually go in the draft, and even more interesting to see how they develope.

Most of us seem to have pretty strong opinions in regard to the WR/WR's we favor, sure makes it exciting. Of the top four or five WR's, I think Ive seen every one of them either be someones favorite, or least favorite.

I have to disagree with you on Spencer as he demonstrated at the combine that his hip flexibility was at least equal to Moss. One way to measure hip flexibility is to look at the 3 cone drill and short shuttle times, and Spencer's combined times were better than Moss'. NFL.com had this to say about Spencer in their prospect profile "Has the quick change-of-direction agility to work down the line and his speed and range dropping back in pass coverage...". While he may not be an elite athlete, his is bigger, stronger, and faster than Moss and his times are closer to those of Demarcus Ware than Moss. Anyways, I'm more of a fan of drafting a guy like Brian Robinson later on.

I agree with you about Levi Brown though, he's top 15 for sure.

But yeah, it is very interesting that there's such varrying opinions on the WRs this year, like you said it'll be interesting to see where they're taken and how they develop.

I didn't follow Spencers three cone, and I admit I haven't seen him much, but many scouting reports I've reade on him have pretty much agreed with this one from ESPN NFL/Scouts INC.

"Might struggle to get off the blocks as quickly against bigger NFL lineman. Quick and fast but doesn't posses great change of direction skills. Needs to improve pass rush moves. Stiff hips limit him when dropping into coverage. Overextends at times and takes himself out of running plays. On the short side with just adequate bulk."

They compared him to Leonard Little.

To be fair that was the "negatives", they raved about his pass rush skills, strength, closing speed, burst and motor in the "positives"

I personally feel that Carpenter can be a heck of a bookend for Ware, so I don't personaly feel we need to draft a DE/OLB unless the value is to great. I'm torn between WR/DB/OL.

The only two I want in the first round

This is truly shocking. Your objectivity is dazzling.

To me, it is strange to predict who might be around. I would just have a board with all of my first round choices and then go from there. But here is my attempt, I am sure some will be long gone by 22:

1) Levi Brown
2) Alan Branch
3) Ted Ginn
4) Marshawn Lynch
5) Darrelle Revis
6) Jarvis Moss
7) Dwayne Bowe
8) Joe Staley
9) Robert Meachem
10) Ben Grubbs

If one of those ten are not available, I panic.

And then hope I could trade out of the round.

Bowe, Meachem about equal; Ginn a little higher due to immediate impact as returner
Revis will be gone as will Hall; Houston might still be there, Ross I am not sure of.
Staley is not someone I want; no other OL will be there that I want in the first rd
Branch I dont want and Okobe will be gone
Nelson I dont want
Blalock is not worth our 22- frankly he is a high second rd at best
Moss I dont want
So my wish list right now would be:
Houston
Ginn
Meacham
Bowe

I really want a WR, but I can live with a CB or DT or OL or even LB, but I would go insane if we drafted a safety in round 1.

Personally, I think that would be the most idiotic thing we could do, and I don't think we will no matter who's on the board.

We really need to give Hamlin and Watkins this year to look good; really, outside of the top Safety who will be long gone, who could we get that we could be so sure would be better?
