I don't remember there ever was a RT competition.

But this team essentially forced him into the lineup at left guard, despite Cooper clearly being better. Not excusing and not forgetting that one.

But Green is at the point where his next move is out the door. Not only is he rarely healthy, even when he is, he's a complete liability out there. Barring a monumental comeback, this guy is on his way out of this league.

Well he was supposed to be in competition there. They moved Collins pretty quickly over to that spot.

I thought he did a decent job too, but I have to wonder who he was lining up against in those games? I think it was San Francisco and Chicago.

But from what I've read and what Clayborn has said, he saw a flaw in his hand usage and thought he could exploit it. When he did, Green had no answer and he beat him with it again and again and again.

And then he beat Bell with it as well when he came in to replace him. Clayborn himself said "I've got one move, and it worked" again and again and again.

Does this make you question the OL Coach and what he is doing all game long?

More the coordinator and head coach. I think adjusting protections and giving a struggling player help would be more of their responsibility than the line coach.

Linehan should know first, but if he doesn't, Garrett should be telling him. Not that I'm absolving Pollack, he should be calling it out as well.

Plenty of failure and blame to go around for it. Player and coaches.

Good point. There is also the theory he simply had an awful game for no real reason in paticular. I know thats garbage but travel with me on this one. Years ago I remember Larry Allen getting owned by a Saints player Ive already forgotten. I KNOW I KNOW and I KNOW, Green isnt fit to bla bla bla.

My point remains, sometimes it happens. Its overly optimistic but I REALLY hope he pulls himself together this week. One thing is certain we will soon know how bad or medicore (hopefully) he is.

Hey, I hope you're right, I really do. That would be best-case for everyone. Player, team, and fans.

But my own expectation is that this soft player goes completely in the tank. I think he's fragile, physically and mentally. And I think that's been exposed.

It's why I can remain a bit optimistic that Taco Charlton can get better down the stretch and for the future. I think he has the mental makeup to keep grinding and working. I don't see that with Green at all.

Probably the fault of the coaching staff who tried to make him a guard all offseason even though literally no one thought he could play guard well.

I'm sure that didn't help things any. But it's no excuse either.

Not to rub it in but we could've had Stefan Diggs with the pick we used on Chaz

Show of hands..

How many of you know this was Chaz Greens 4rth time he filled in for Tyron Smith?

And how many are baffled (Because that’s all they talked about on Sports Radio the day after,) that Chaz went from serviceable (First 3 fill-ins did ok,) to completely abysmal (Total turnstile?)

Never mind, we already know more than half of you don’t know this...

-Carry on

But seriously am I the only here that thinks Chaz “Took a dive” on purpose? It’s like somebody said hey Chaz here’s $500K, go ahead and not even try (Because in the past we’ve seen him at least Hold the pass rusher.) I smell a rat. Was he injured in practice again?

WTH happened? Nobody is even acknowledging this except Sports radio...

Read elsewhere on the board, that he was used to playing guard, so he has picked up weight and his feet are not as fast therefore.

I mentioned last week that he started 2 games at LT last season. He was good enough that most people didn't notice.

I seriously doubt he took a dive intentionally.

It seems that practicing at Guard might have screwed him up. The way he avoided oversetting to the outside is something they would teach a Guard.

It was amazing that he didn't at least over-correct and start getting beaten to the inside which is what most young OTs would do.

He might be able to correct the problem in practice this week considering that he was good last season.

I have tended to question his toughness but now lean towards some physical limitation from the hip injury. He looked stiff as a board and very slow. I think he is gone after this year.

He had issues with his technique. It likely had more to do with him practicing at guard for 6 months and being pressed into playing tackle than him quitting on the team.
It seemed like he was short setting. I thought at some point he would start over-setting but it never happened.

Welcome to 2017. Where you get called a casual fan for not buying into a conspiracy about a player getting paid off as the logical reason he sucked.

He don't think he was pressured, he said he prefers playing tackle. I have no doubt there is merit in your point though. Technique is not something that stays with you if you aren't practicing at it consistently. Chaz looks out of position at tackle.

No idea what happened to Green. He went from 'serviceable but an injury risk' to 'cannot trust him again' in one game.

I'm not saying it's impossible that he took a dive, but I think that's very unlikely. What's more likely is simply that he didn't do a good job staying in shape and then played bad because of that.

Well... Youre on a Cowboys message board so most of us knew he did well last year.

I don't know about the take a dive bit. The Coaches must've been in on it too.
