It is interesting that the Showers project continues with his move to the practice squad. They must either think he has potential as a DB or he can play a scout team mobile QB. Or maybe he has compromising pictures of someone high up in the organization.

We only have 2 QB's, so he can be used there as scout team if they play a team with a scrambling QB.

From what I saw, he has the physical tools to play safety, but he needs a lot of practice and reps to understand the position and get a feel for it.

And truth be told, the practice squad isn't a huge deal for any team. There's usually a player on a practice squad on the team that is either a feel-good story or a player like Showers who has done everything asked of him from playing special teams when he was a QB and now switching to safety and put them on the PS as a bit of a 'thank you.'

Somehow I doubt that the Patriots have any strictly feel good stories on their practice squad.

The Cowboys are waiting for that big trade offer to come in.

I wonder if this guy can't make the team because he just takes at beating at the end of every practice "(whistle) OK, that's it for today, hit the showers!"

BAM

Funny I literally said the same thing about scout team QB in another thread about Showers

Are you really this naive?

Even though we heard a lot of talk about not wanting to make him a jack-of-all type of guy, he may turn out to be just that kind of guy for the Cowboys.

I believe this is the last year he can be on the PS, so they got a guy that's cheap & will & can do what they want on the practice field for the most part. It's not too bad a deal having a guy that can play multiple roles depending on the opponent they're preparing to play next.

And for all the talk about RKG, Jameill Showers is a RKG. Graduated from TAMU in 3yrs, went to UTEP (YAY!) got his Masters there. He's mature, he's humble, he's a VERY hard worker.

Evidently the coaches see enough in him to give him more time. However that can change

He's done everything they've asked of him - QB, special teams gunner, S.

If Jeff Heath's contract expires at the bottom of the safety depth chart, do you want a guy you've been developing to fill in that bottom spot and play special teams, or do you want to turn to the street or the draft and have to start the development all over again?

You guys are so weird about caring about the ******* practice squad, lol.

Okay, think about Wilcox and the improvement vs the amount of time Showers has at Safety, a year on the PS could turn Jameill into Barry Church.

Wilcox had plateaued IMO, so we will see if Showers can improve beyond JJ.

I'm in the Jameil Showers Fan club.
